Bought a new BlackBerry 8800 but I need to unSIM lock to use zain SIM card. I've been asked to provide information by extracting from the phone using BB-READER soft ware so that they can give me the unlock code. Option # 3: T-Mobile or Cingular, your carrier
Yes, you can ask your carrier for an unlock code for your Blackberry and guess what, they do it for it Absolutely FREE. So, what is the catch? The only condition which atleast T-Mobile imposes on its customers before it gives out the unlock codes for the Blackberry Pearl or any other cell phone is that you have to be under the contract for atleast 90 days or 3 months before they can give you the unlock code. So, if you have the patience, I would recommend that you wait for this 3 month time frame before calling up 611 from your T-Mobile phone, talk to customer service and get your unlock codes.
In my search for the Blackberry Unlock codes, I found out that a lot of people mess up before they have no idea how to enter the unlock codes correctly. So, follow this method to enter your Blackberry Unlock code
How To Enter the Unlock Codes on a BlackBerry Cell Phone

422851199_3d16b31e6c_o.pngModel : All BlackBerry Models (except T-mobile)
1 - Using the menu go to Settings Menu -> SIM card press select.
2 - While holding the SHIFT key, type MEPD or (MEPPD for Vodafone Handsets)
3 - You should now see the five locking categories listed.
4 - While holding the SHIFT KEY, type MEP2 or (MEPP2 for Vodafone handsets)
5 - Release the shift key.
6 - You are now prompted to enter the Network MEP code (it will also state how many attempts left)
7 - Enter the code
8 - Enter Return/Enter
9 - The device should then be unlocked
Model : T-mobile BlackBerry Models
1 - On the Home screen, click the Tools icon. The Options screen appears.
2 - In the tools screen, select the Settings icon.
3 - Scroll to SIM Card and select it. You should see the phone number and the SIM ID number.
4 - Type ‘mepd’ to display the first five levels of SIM locking.
T-Mobile uses network locking so the Network should display Active. All other states should display Disabled
Please note: For the Blackberry 7100t you will hit the “P” twice when entering the ‘mepd’ and ‘mep2′ for steps 4 & 5.
5 - Type ‘mep2′ to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code (Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2)
6 - Input the Network Unlock code
7 - Press ENTER and reboot handheld.
Model : BlackBerry Pearl 8100 (Alternative instructions if above instructions do not work)
Can be done without a sim card inserted
To Unlock:
1 - While on the home screen, click the “blackberry key” on keyboard, then select “options”.
2 - Choose “Advanced Options”.
3 - Select “Sim Card”
4 - There is no area to type these letters, you just type them as instructed. No need to hit keys twice to get a letter either. Type m e p p d to display the first five levels of SIM locking. Most companies use network locking so the Network should display Active. All other states should display Disabled ( you will not see text appear on screen
while typing )
5 - Type m e p p 2 to display the dialog box asking for the unlock code
(Press the Alt + 2 key to get the number 2) ( you will not see text
appear on screen while typing )
6 - Input the SIM Unlock code
7 - Press in the trackball in once
Your phone is unlocked

SOURCE: USB connection failure to Blackberry 8800

I have the same problem.  The following solution may apply; here is how to IDENTIFY the problem: (1) Phone doesn't connect to desktop software through USB but will through BT (if setup) (2) Phone doesn't charge whether USB-computer, USB-wall, USB-carcharger or does sometimes but you are not sure why it works sometimes but not all the time (3) If you hold, lean, twist, or jiggle the plug at the phone, it may charge or the charge icon may show briefly (Also) Plug is noticeably loose or comes out Solution: if plug is torn loose, damaged, or comes all the way out, go to this site and follow along in kind http://computerguru365.blogspot.com/2006/02/diy-blackberry-usb-repair.html If plug is simply intermittant: remove all power and the battery, open your phone, and carefully redo the solder joints of the plug.  If you don't have a SMT (surface mount) rated soldering iron w/ tip, you can use the radio shack standard but be sure to only apply the hot tip in pulses (less than/up to 50% of time, less than 3sec each touch) so you don't heat damage the surrounding components. Why: Because the plug gets tugged to the sides causing the solder joints to crack (microscopically).  At first I had to lean books against the plug but then that quit working as well.
This approach also worked on my laptop which quit charging when plug torque flexed the motherboard and cracked the solder at some surface components near the plug.  I found out which components when the varying the force of my multimeter tip cause the component to show open and normal across the solder joint

I cant browse with my phone on the zain network..... and anytime i recharge to subscribe, the charging fee will be deducted from my account and yet i wont recieve any service.......

Did your blackberry already unlocked for all network? If you didn't unlock your blackberry, you will not be able to use any sim card from other network. In this case you need blackberry storm 9530 unlock code that you can get from third party sites or you can asked from your original network provider. Both of them will not give your free blackberry unlock code, but third party sites usually have good price rather than original network provider.

Where do Ifind the Puk on the Blackberry 8800

PUKs, or personal unblocking keys, are used to unblock a mobile phone which becomes blocked. Mobile phones may become blocked when a PIN (personal identification number) is entered incorrectly on three consecutive occasions. In some instances, the phone may become blocked, which requires a PUK to unblock it, and in other instances, the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card itself becomes blocked and again will require a PUK to unblock it. Mobile phones are also blocked when they are reported stolen and if there is an outstanding payment on the account. It is important to differentiate between unblocking phones (using a PUK) and unlocking mobile phones (using another type of code). More information on unlocking phones will be available here in the very near future. NOTE: It is a criminal offence for anyone to attempt to unblock a mobile phone, other than the network provider who put the block on the phone. If your phone has become blocked by mistake, for example you have entered the PIN incorrectly on three consecutive occasions, then you need to contact the mobile phone network operator with your details. To explain a little more, specific to your mobile phone network, use the links above to navigate your way to the specific PUK details for your mobile phone network operator.

Hi! My son dropped his BB 8800 in water. We put it in a bag of rice for 24 hrs to dry out. The phone turns on, and we can use all of the controls. When we insert his new sim card (from an ATT store,...

When you place a new or a existing SIM card from another phone provider into your mobile phone and it asks for a Security code then :-
This phone is locked to the original mobile phone provider. You need to contact this mobile provider to ask for the unlock code (security code) for this phone. You need to provide proof of ownership etc and the phone's unique IMEI number which is located inside the phone under the battery. They use this number to generate the unlock code for your phone.
They should provide you with instructions on how to enter this code into the phone.
Once you unlock the phone, then you can insert a new SIM card in this phone or sign up with another phone provider using this phone.

You could ring the phone provider and ask for the unlock security code because you are going overseas and wish to use your phone with a prepaid SIM card from another country. This maybe a free service.
The other way to get your phone unlock is to use a phone unlocking company on the Internet, they usually charge a couple of Dollars for their services. Use Google and search for "Security unlocking code” for phone unlocking companies in your area.

My blackberry pearl 8100 need a sim subsidy unlock in order for me to used with my carrier how can i get it

1) Contact your service provider to obtain instructions and the SIM unlock code for your device.
2) Download one of the following files:-
a) sim ulock tool serial blackberry.zip
b) sim unlock tool usb blackberry.zip
3) Extract the file and save it to your personal computer.
4) Connect the device to the personal computer.
5) Double-click the downloaded file. If prompted, enter your device password.
The unlock tool runs, and the device resets when complete.
6) Proceed with the SIM unlock instructions from your service provider.

NOTE:-This happen's when you're trying to change the service provider.
If you intend to change your service provider, contact your current provider and inquire whether your BlackBerry device's SIM card is locked. If your BlackBerry device has a locked SIM card, you will need an unlock code. Some carriers charge a fee for this. Once the BlackBerry device is unlocked, it will accept a new SIM card and a new service provider.

I have BlackBery 8800

If your phone is a GSM phone meaning the phone has a SIM card usually T-mobile or At&t, tell your son to call customer service and tell them that he needs the unlock code for his phone, if he has been with the company for more than 90 days they will give it to you with out any hassle, they might ask why you need it, tell them he is traveling over seas, they will email you the unlock code wihin 48 hours, free of charge, when you get your new service provider they will issue you a new SIM card which you will put in the phone once it powers up it will ask you for the unlock code.

There is another way if you dont mind paying a few bucks, check out this link. let me know if this helps
