I have had this problem. But for me it was were for some reason if power to home goes out and comes back on (due to weather or really anything) the wii will not work ever again in the same wall socket. the wii reacts this way for reasons unknown to me, but when I plugged it into a different socket even on the same outlet it works. what i do now is keep it plugged into a surge protector and turn off protector when not using wii. I hope this is your issue, if so the wii will still work fine in another socket. only other advice I can give is to buy a new power cord, and if that does not work then then smell the vents on the system and see if it smell like burned wires. if so your power supply has burned out and the system will need to be serviced. I hope this helps.

Do you think it's the battery? Or maybe the back. If the wii loses power, either the game you are in will immediately pause or it will continue moving in the same direction you pointed it in before the wii lost power

Tip

Everything is plugged in but your Wii won't turn on

Okay so you have everything plugged in, but all of a sudden your Wii won't turn on, right? Maybe there was a power outage or your circuit breaker was flipped, or maybe nothing happened, but the fact remains that it won't work and you don't know why.

There is a decent chance that your Wii's power cable needs to be reset.

To reset the power cable you need to:
1) Unplug the power cable from the Wii and the wall.
2) Let it sit and rest for 10-15 minutes.
3) Plug everything back in.
4) Turn on your Wii.
It should work at this point if that is the problem.

It may sound silly but Nintendo built in the reset mechanism due to power cable failures and it often is the resolution to a Wii not turning on.

Good luck!

Wii power light is flashing red

Wii red light going batty flashing like every 1/3rd of a second, and it will not turn on. Now i plugged everything back in ACCEPT Not Sensor PLUG To back of wii, then the light quit (This is after 4 min break all undone...) And then plugged the Sensor plug and THEN as i finally plugged in the POWER Plug I first held the SYNC red button on the Wii, and then plugged it in and WAH-LAH Isue Resolved Immediately, KUDOS for the hints Cheerz & Peace Love Banish Fear/ hate to not even give it thought in root thoughtfulness.!. www.fb.com/stanleydeanparker/

The wii was working fine then all of a sudden there was no power going to the console. I unplugged it, waited awhile then plugged it back in again, still no power. Can it be the power cord?

Yes accually it can be the power cord.Depending on how old it is and how twisted or bent it is can be the broblem. I would suggest getting a new power cord befor getting a new wii and consulting a wii specailist be for getting a new wii

Wii stopped working. the light is not on. There is a disk inside that won't eject. We tried unplugging and replugging everything. Could it just be the 3V battery ?

did the power go out while your Wii was plugged up and on or in sleep mode? if it was, you probably need to unplug you wii from everything and let it sit for a few minutes. your Wii probably just got 'shocked' by the sudden lack of a power source. If the power didnt go out, then I dont know how to help you~ Sorry. I hope I helped!! ^-^

My son was using his wii when the power suddenly went out on the TV and the wii. The TV started working again, but the wii did not. I've checked all the connections and unplugged and plugged everything in,...

Did you have a power surge? Unplug the power supply from the wii and the wall for five mins. Then plug it back in and try it out. Have heard of this working for some people.

Wii wont come on.

it might sound silly but is the power cable pushed all the way in? if so take your wii to game or similar and ask them to test with their cable on pretence of poss buying a new power lead if theirs works then new lead is what you need

Wii suddenly freezes during play?

You should make sure your disks are not scratched. To turn the wii off (without unplugging and all that).....Just hold the power button for a while on the counsle until it shuts off. Just out of curiousity.......and maybe a thing.........because this happened to me.........it froze because i entered a cheat and skipped to much in the game, but when i went back and did it the real way, it didn't freeze.

Won't power up

Disconnect the power supply from the wii and from the wall. Let it sit for 5 minutes. The power supply has probably been tripped and needs to be reset. This is the problem 9 out of 10 times. It must be disconnected from the wall and the wii in order to reset and you must wait at least 5 mintues.
