This is a problem with the CRTs(picture tubes) or the coolant chamber(s) of same. The cost to replace the affected parts with be quite high. Expect to spend $400-600 to replace the CRT(s)

What causes the yellowish hue in the centre of the screen

There are several different types of projection sets: some use 3 picture tubes, red,green,blue--if this kind of set is what you have the coolant used in the blue tube is bad-----this type of problem leaves red and green which = yellow.

Most common in Samsung, Philips, Magnavox type sets.

If it is a newer set without picture tubes (a dlp style set) yellow in the middle of the screen would denote a damaged optical light engine.

Let me know brand, model number, date made----all are on back of set.

Can't fix the color - really blue or really yellow.

Probably Blue CRT shot. Put tint back to center and turn color level to 0. Should look good black and white pic. If blue CRT shot, will look yellowish; usually more yellow around perimeter.

I left my tv on when I went to bed and the picture was fine. Then I woke up and turned it off. When I came home and turned it back on, the picture was blurry all around the tv except in the middle of the...

is the blurry all around the picture have different color like a smear of red, blue or yellow?
if it is i think the posistor of your tv is not working. it is the one who activate the degaussing coil around the picture tube the prevent color miss-landing upon opening your tv set.

RED CONVERGENCE SCREEN PATTERN BOWING AND CAN'T ADJUST

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Samsung hc-p4252w - yellow tinge on left side of screen

If you put magnet speaker ( Standard speaker) near the TV, first you must move that speaker away from your TV because this will cause your colour TV screen color scattered. Then switch off your TV for 5 hrs. then switch it ON again your problem will be solved if the degaussing coil working.

Samsung HC-P4752W 47" projection TV distortion & yellow?

I think you have a fault on the chroma board and on the picture frame board. If you can trace it yourself try these two locations otherwise call out a competant technician. hope this helps.
