LEXMARK X5450 PRINTER--PAPER WILL NOT FEED INTO PRINTER
PAPER STARTS TO FEED BUT THEN STOPS AFTER SHEET IS MIDWAY THRU...IF I TRY TO ASSIST PAPER BY BY TRYING TO PUSH IT A LITTLE, I GET PAPER JAM INDICATOR ON LCD--BEFORE THE PAPER STOPPED FEEDING ENTIRELY, IT STARTED FEEDING UNEVENLY AND OFTEN JAMMED, THEN JUST STOPPED FEEDING ENTIRELY,.CHECKED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT TAKING IT APART AND NO VISIBLE BLOCKAGE..ANY TIPS OUT THERE??

I'm trying to print something and it says there is a paper jam. I open it up to find that there is no jam. I try and press the select button but it just beeps. I do not know this particular printer but several things might be wrong. Make sure all the paper handling sensors and rollers are clean. Check to see if the next sheet of paper is sticking to the first and blocking a sensor. Check to see if the paper is advancing properly. Sometimes the roller will spin but slips on the paper, if the printer senses that the paper is not advancing properly it will throw a paper jam code. Make sure you are using fresh, crisp paper and the holding tray is at least half full.
The paper feed solenoid is sticking, it can be seen thru a hole in the back with the door opened. Not easy to get to, but I have been able to bend the stop tab slightly and run just fine.

I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.

hmmm... try lifting up on the scanner part to open, like you are going to change the ink cart. might have worked its way in there thats about the only reasonable entry point i can think of. and please try not to shake it more than you have to. they dont like that :)
There may be a scrap of paper stuck in the machine, interfering with normal paper feed. Turn off the printer, and try to force a sheet of paper through the printer by hand. Feed the paper only in the normal direction that the paper goes. Forcing it by hand may push out the stuck scrap. Thin cardstock can be used instead of paper.
That is usually caused by the paper feed rollers being cover with paper dust. Take a clean cotton pad and alcohol and clean the rollers :turninig each roller as you clean it. if it has a rear dor, open it to get better access to the rollers.

i am having the same problem and after looking it over, something is not feeding it thru the beginning of the paper starting in. if i pust 1 sheet down far enough to grab the paper it will print one page at a time. I have been unable to determine what is not feeding at the beginning yet.
