Printer is a Canon MP470 all-in-one, USB connected. OS is Windows XP. Latest printer drivers are installed. After print job completes, status of print job remains in print spool as "printing". If I cancel the job, the status becomes "deleting", but it takes about 3 minutes to actually delete from the queue. No other jobs will print while all this is going on. Cannot start and stop the spooler while this is going on either. This happens with every print job. It is not an intermittent problem. Any suggestions? Thanks - al

This is not a network environment. The printer is connected directly to the PC via USB.

Is your printer hooked up to your network?

Make sure all your settings are correct and try connecting the printer directly into your computer. Then print if it does not work still then comment back and I will be glad to help.

Hope this helped.

Alright well try disconnecting the printer from your computer and plugging it back in. Listen if the computer even recognizes it. Did this printer work before? Also maybe you need to re-install the software or update the drivers.

Try that and let me know. I am always glad to help.

    Hope this helped.

How to Setup Canon Pixma In Macbook?

The functioning of your Mac Book is a little different from Windows. It is possible that this may get you confused. Let's take a look at the steps for Canon Pixma MG2522 setup in Mac. Click on 'Drivers and software' options in your printer and chose the version of Mac OS you are currently using. Start downloading the printer driver on Mac. Then, double click the downloaded file to run it. Now, you have to select the 'Continue' button twice. Thereafter, press 'Install' to add the Canon Printer to your Mac Book.

Hi I have a Windows 7 (64 Bit) laptop and im

Please check the driver weather its support Win 7 64-bit or not, because Win7 have 2 varians 32-bit and 64-bit. If its not support 64-bit windows, you can download new driver but must be compatible with 64-bit system. Even if its the latest version of driver, but not support 64-bit system it won't be work.
You can download driver from here :

http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010891.asp

or here :
http://driverscollection.com/?H=PIXMA%20MG6150&By=Canon (choose Windows 7 64-bit).

Uninstall the driver from your PC then reinstall with the new driver.
Hope this help.

I can,t getmy printer to print from the computer. I have try everything.

What OS are you using? Check that you have the correct (latest) driver for your printer available here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=1138346& Select your OS and click Next. Uninstall the old driver and disconnect the data cable (for directly connected printers) before installing the driver. For those Windows OS versions that include the driver with the OS, if the driver isn't automatically, check Windows Update for new updates (check for Optional Updates).

Are you getting any error messages (flashing lights on the unit)? Paper jams or low ink could be the problem.

Since the printer is a USB printer, try a new USB cable or a different USB port on the computer. Try a direct connection if you use a print server or USB hub. Check that the USB ports are working with a known good device. (For Windows, check if the USB ports are active. They can be turned off for security or power savings. The first is under the Device Manager (also check the driver status for the USB itself); the second is part of the Advanced Settings from the Screen Saver.)

Are the print jobs going to the queue and staying there? What is the printer status? For Windows, see the Devices and Printers Control Panel (older versions of Windows gave Printers and Faxes, IIRC). Try clearing the print jobs. For Windows, you can force this to empty by stopping and restarting the print spooler. Use the Command Prompt (for Vista and Win7 right click and choose Run as Administrator) Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
Type "net stop spooler" at the first prompt without the quotes followed by enter. Type Y if you get a warning about stopping the Fax Service. On the next line, type "net start spooler" again without the quotes and then hit enter. When you get a third prompt, restart the computer. Then check your printer queue. (You could do only the first step and then restart; however, you will need to go for a coffee break after the restart.)

Once the queue is empty, try a new print job. Next try resetting the printer. Unplug the printer (from both the computer and the outlet) and remove the data cable (from both the computer and the printer). Wait a short while and then reconnect everything. Try printing again.

Try printing a different type of file from another program. For example, PDFs sometimes won't print from Adobe Reader. This could result from a damaged PDF, a problem with Adobe Reader or something else. You can try using the Advanced Printer Properties (click the box when you select which printer you want to print to) and try printing the document as an image. Also try printing the same document from another computer/printer (transfer it to external media if you use another computer to minimize additional file transfer damage).

I hope this helps.

(BTW if you use a Mac, do not delete jobs from the Print Queue. Instead press Cancel at the printer. Otherwise, your computer may lose the connection to the printer.)

Vista recognizes printer, but nothing happens after job queues

Turns out it was a bad USB 2.0 cable. Finally tried the most simple fix, last, and of course, that's what worked. Just had to replace the cable.

Cannot print on shared printer

I had the same problem with HP 1018 printer, when I had two computers connected to a domain and had Windows XP SP3 on them and when I shared the printer on one of them - I could only print from the network if the user belonged to the Local Administrators group on the host/server computer. Once the network user is removed from Administrators - the print jobs are stuck in print queue. I used the "HP LaserJet Host Based Print Driver Package" that is on HP web site for HP laserjet 1018 printer.
Then I tried to use a different driver for that printer and was successful with driver for HP LaserJet 1020. After forcing that printer to use the 1020 drivers, the regular users were able to print to that printer.

Status Box Remains at 99%

Try uninstalling then re-installing the drivers. Also if you are using Windows Vista you may need to go to the printer manufacturers website and download Vista drivers if you are running XP drivers for the printer.
