Download from Handycam DCR-DVD108

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108 but it won't upload any of its video onto my laptop (Windows Vista.) I can't find a firewire port on the Handycam, my laptop can't play 8cm DVD's, and the USB that came with it won't register. How can I download the video from the Handycam onto my laptop?

Hi there.

Check the manual. Movies can only be recorded to disk. Thanks for coming to FixYa.

Is there a DCR-TRV340 driver software for windows vista?

EASY SOLUTION - Take your DCR-TRV340 to Best Buy and ask them for a "fire-wire" cable to fit your camera. Sony stopped supporting USB for this camera a long time ago.

When you hook up your camera with the fire-wire to Vista, at a minimum Vista will want to download your video. Whatever other video processing software you may have will also be shown by Vista...so you can use them or Vista. FIRE-WIRE will solve your problems!

How do I upload video clips from my Sony DCR-DVD 108

I understand that you tube uses a different format to the camcorder.
What I do is copy the clip to memory card then plug memory card into a USB card reader & copy movie / photos to your hard disk drive.
then upload them to you tube later.
any problems just email me [email protected]

Editing a film

VOB format is MPEG-2 system stream and Media Player will play it. It may be required Codecs.
Sony DVD Cameras write data in vob format.
