Had to shut printer down, now cannot restart

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Paper is jammed, open the hood and remove the paper. Be careful otherwise you may end up opening few screws to completely remove the paper.

Please make sure you have followed the instructions in this link to clear the paper jam.
If you try to reset the printer, unplug both the data and power cords and wait a few minutes before plugging them in again...cancel the print job, and try a different paper if you have one available....Make sure there is no foreign matter in the feed rollers...
If that doesn't do it, I'm afrad it may require service...
