How do you turn the sound up and down?

Hi Patricia,

What is the make/model of your laptop and what operating system are you using?
First is to look at your keyboard. All of your keys will have your main characters assigned to each key in bold, white letters, but some may have other characters or symbols in a different color.

25358410-xuob0sb0sjjt23zmtlvb05nb-1-0.jpg

This is a good example from a Dell keyboard where you have the volume keys above the numbers 7, 8, and 9 on the very top row (mute/volume down/volume up respectively). It's easy to see taht you simply hit these keys to mute, lower or raise your volume...very straight forward.

You also see that this keyboard has some smaller blue characters on the top row, set as the Function Keys. To access these you first hold the "Fn" key on the very bottom left of the keyboard (between Ctrl and the Windows key) and then press the top row to access the related function. I only point this out as some laptops have the Volume Up/Down set as such, where you will have to hold down and alternate key first (usually the same color) and then press or hold down that second key to activate it.

Good luck!

Sound wont go on. muted but i have no way of unchecking the mute box

Go to the top of your keyboard. There is a button with a black sideways bell shape icon on it ( a speaker) (the f3 key)...probably four in from the left starting with esc. Toggle that on. It may be on the mute setting now. It should have waves coming out of it when it is unmuted. To the right of that button (two buttons to the right) is the increase volume control button, the (f5) key. Make sure the volume is up! If it is down all the way you will hear nothing and it will be also muted.
I am not sure why if you go into System Preferences (under the Apple icon) and scroll down to Sound and Output, the mute box cannot be unchecked. Perhaps using the function keys to unmute and increase volume on the top of the keyboard will help.

Sounds like your keyboard drive is not set right. Do you have a special keyboard with programmable functions? Try changing your keyboard driver. Google your keyboard model + drivers and see if one comes up you can download. Then replace current driver and see if that resolves your issue. It's not a laptop is it? If so, that's another matter.

Hi, I am using Webex Remote Accessing Service and I am trying to connect the remote computer using windows 64-bit OS,Getting error '' We have detected 64-bit OS, Not supported but it was working fine till...

I had the EXACT same error on the EXACT same date as you. Its is obviously a problem with Webex, and I emailed them right away. HERE is the response I got from them this morning:

We have detected you are using 64 bit Win

Hello Cathy,

Thank you for choosing WebEx.

I understand that QB remote access was working fine on your computer but now you receive a message saying WebEx does not work with 64-bit OS.

I accept your point that it was working fine on the same computer until now. QuickBooks Remote Access service does not officially support Windows 64-bit Edition as of now. The service may or may not work depending on what updates Microsoft makes and this is not something that WebEx can control and cannot confirm.

It would not be possible for us to investigate the issue or escalate it since official support is not available right now.

Therefore we suggest using Windows XP or Vista 32 bit edition if you would like to use our service.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

For immediate assistance, please call our Technical Support directly at 916-463-8207, so that a Technical Support engineer can assist you.

Regards,

Kathy,
WebEx Technical Support.

Function Key Problem

your keyboard driver may be corrupt, go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down list to keyboards, click '+' sign, right click on your keyboard and select uninstal. Restart your notebook and the keyboard and drivers will be reinstalled automatically and should be as normal, but check for any updated drivers at Sony:- http://www.vaio-link.com/downloads/preinstalled/preinstalled.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&m=2303
