The last Bios update for your board was 06/18/2002. With XP editions you should not have a problem seeing the whole drive.
Your bios is not a issue with win XP & drive size.
By going to your Hd's Mfg's site you can download either bootable disks or creat a bootable CD & set your drive up in dos like mode. Your able to pick your FAT type & cluster size, drive size & preform a quick format. If you want the NTFS file system with its 4kb cluster size skip the Mfg's drive utilities & just let windows do its thing.
