Sticky keypad Buttons on the keypad are not responding. If I select a channel 70 it will bring up the number 7 but not the 0. Although it will bring up the 0 but not the 7 and 0 together. It's not just these 2 buttons but all the others aren't responding including the power (red) button. I have changed butteries but it didn't help. What would you suggest?

Either the channel up and down buttons have both broken (unlikely) or everything else is working except the remote is not telling the device you are controlling to change the channel up or down.

Since all the other buttons are working well, that also requires that the receiving end of the pair to be working well, thus ruling out problems on that end.

Solution: Reprogram your remote to support the appropriate channel up/down codes for your TV/Tuner in question.

SOURCE: Please help remove the on screen display of channel number

I hit the TV button on my COX cable box remote. I prayed about it and started doing what my wife said she had done. She had hit all of the buttons on the remote. I did the same thing.
When I hit the counter-clockwise circle with the arrow head on it the channel number on the screen went off.
Praise the Lord! Thank You, Jesus!
I had been trying for about a week to get the channel number off of the screen to no avail.

SOURCE: Not all the buttons are working on the remote

You may have to change your code. http://www.urc.philips.com/ This link will take you to the Philips Support site where you can download manuals and code sheets for your remote.

SOURCE: certain buttons wont respond

I had a Sony remote that got dropped. Looked inside and found the circuit board broken. The ideal solution is to by a direct replacement--expensive. I had an amplifier remote with learning and lots of buttons. The cheapest ($10-$15) is to buy a universal remote, hopefully with a learning function in case you need to get more that just the numbers, volume, mute, and up/down. They may not know how to change source, TV/VCR, menu, etc. Most will know how to do Sony while many will not know off brands. -Ken

SOURCE: remote up & down channel buttons

Which Dish model receiver and remote? You likely have a custom guide selected that only includes those channels. On most models, press guide twice and select a different guide or press Favorites to Modify List of the channels in the current guide. If in doubt select All Sub or All Channels to see more/too many channels with up/down. I use All HD for seeing the high-def channels. Otherwise I use a custom list to see a bigger listing. -Ken

Sounds like the main system control memory IC has damaged. Replace the same and check. It is a very small IC, having 8 solder terminals. Very cheap, and easy to get. Will look somewhat like this.

Mouse buttons left right switching sticky keys

Remember you can always use the keypad in place of the mouse. Try replacing the mouse with another one. If that doesn't work, it is probably something in the software. Do a scan on the system next.

Echostar remote changes channels slow and changes guide without touching remote

Hi there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. It sounds like you could possibly be experiencing UHF interference. UHF interference could possibly be caused by someone in your area with the same remote frequency as you or possibly by other electronic equipment in your home. The best way to fix this issue is by changing the remote address on for the remote with the issue. I will list here for you the instructions for readdressing your remote. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions feel free to email me directly at [email protected] or respond here and I would be happy to help!

Instructions for readdressing remote
  1. If you are using TV1 remote stay at the receiver location if you are using TV2 remote take that remote to the TV1 location where the receiver box is.
  2. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or by pressing the power button once then pressing the channel up button once on the front of your receiver.
  3. Once you are in the system info screen you will see primary remote address (TV1) and secondary remote address (TV2).
  4. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  5. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number in the little white square to something than what is already listed.
  6. Press the pound (#) button
  7. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 5 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

I am trying to get channels above 13. I do not

Try bringing up the menu by holding both volume buttons down at the same time (or use menu button on remote if you have it). Go into CH SET using the channel and volume buttons on the front of set (or use the SET + and - and the ENTER buttons on remote). Go to the TV CATV line and move the arrow to CATV. Let menu time out. This will put tv into cable mode. Hope this helps.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:
