Samsung front loading washer temperature sensor problem

After completing a load of laundry the washer started beeping and displayed an error code f5. (the symbol is actually and upside down f) i turned it off and put in a new load of clothes. it will start working for just a couple seconds then begin beeping and displaying the error code. according to the manual this code means temperature sensor problem. i called around but nobody can get out to fix it for at least a week and the prices are crazy. and of course it's just past warranty expiration.

exact same problem and getting a new temperature sensor is turning out to be a real pain. I have been waiting for 8 days now and all I keep hearing is that the part will be in sometime this week, not holding my breath. I have discovered that obtaining samsung washing machine parts is a miracle in itself. My washer is only approximately 2 years old, not happy. I have model wf306law/xaa

It may not be your temperature sensor or thermistor. If you have a tE error code on your Samsung washing machine, first check the wiring. My Samsung washer had three visits by the repair tech. and new parts ordered again and again. I looked on a British web site and two people said that it turned out to be wiring broken in several places. Sure enough, I found a broken wire. Technician didn't look for that. Hope it's as easy for you.

What does error code f5 mean?

The F5 error code indicates a water temperature problem. The control board circuit is not recognizing a resistance change in the water temperature sensor.

You most likely have a loose connection at the tub sensor , or a bad heater.

Cannot get washer door to open.

This error code indicates that the door is not locking.
Is the washer door firmly shut?
The door must be completely closed for the washer to operate. The door may look as if it's closed, but it may not be latched. Open the door and firmly close it.
Were you washing a large load?
Before you close the washer door, check for laundry items sticking out beyond the door opening. Leave enough space in the washer to allow the clothes to freely tumble. Reduce your load size if needed.
fl_doorseal.jpg To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel twice.
hcz_003_web_env1.gif

If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and all of the other conditions above have been checked, call for service

Error message "F5"?

F5 is a Water Temperature Sensor Error If during the water heating step in wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, or the heating element circuit has failed, the "F/05" error code will be displayed. If you are savvy enough to troubleshoot yourself, you can check the Water Temperature Sensor, Heating Element and Element Relay. You should also check connections to the Sensor, Heating Element and Relay. As far as servicing goes, Sears and Whirlpool have service contracts on these appliances as the Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet are the same machine made by Whirlpool. I hope this helps you.
