I have a couple HP Laserjet 1200 printers that print pdf documents slow. Depending on the pdf documents, each page can take a few minutes per page to print, or they will print quickly. Is there something I can change to help speed up the printing of pdf documents? People complain its not printing, and then after a minute or two it starts coming out.
I had the same problem for printing pdf documents too slow with HP Laserjet 1200 :
Here's the fix: Open a pdf document go to File > Print> Advanced> check the box Print as image, use 300 DPI...that should do it.

Pdf documents are historically slow, they usually depend on how they are created and how many attachments or upgrades have been added to the document. this accounts for some of the variations of speed the documents are printed.
Make sure you have a Postsript drive loaded. You can get the drive from the HP download site

Usually answered in minutes!
New Imac (2009) with new version of reader pro 9 and an HP1200 printer. Same problem.
While most other files print faster with this new mac, Adobe reader prints much, much slower.
A single sheet (pdf) file, size 60Kb) can take 5-10 minutes to print. If I use the Mac viewer, the same pdf file take less than 20 seconds to print.
Adobe site has no (obvious) answer.
No idea how to fix it other that to switch to the mac viewer when I need to print a pdf file.
