How to set a default file name in Ricoh 2238C scanned document

If possible, I would like to set up default file names for each programmed user name in my Ricoh 2238c scanner. Can I do this?

Currently can input file names individually, but would like to have a preset default file name for each user name including a word and the date, automatically for each document scanned in that user name.

Fax forword ricoh mp171

Print documents received and forward to a specified end receiver. This is useful if, for example, you are visiting another office and would like a copy of your documents to be sent to that office.
You can also specify a "folder" as the forwarding destination.
en-i_imp.gif
  • To use this function, set [Forwarding] under [Administrator Tools] to [On].
  • The Forwarding function does not forward documents received with Memory Lock.
  • You can select end receivers only from among destinations programmed in the Address Book. You cannot specify programmed transfer stations as end receivers.
A fax number, e-mail address, IP-Fax destination, and folder can be set as the forwarding destination.
When you wish to change the end receivers depending on the senders, specify the end receivers by the senders, at "Program Special Sender". Documents not received from specified senders are sent to the destination specified in this function. For details about programming special sender, see "Program Special Sender".
You can set whether or not to print the forwarded documents on this machine in "Parameter Setting" (switch 11, bit 6). See "Parameter Settings".
Deleting a destination specified as a forward destination from the destination list causes the settings of the forward destination to be deleted, so they must be registered again. When a destination is changed, a document is transmitted to the new destination. If there is no destination of the specified type, you can set which destination to be used as an alternative destination in "Parameter Setting" (switch 32, bit 0). See "Parameter Settings".
You can program one of the User Function keys with operations for this function. See "General Settings/Adjust".
If you have specified a folder for forwarding, you can specify the file format used for forwarding in "Parameter Setting" (switch 21, bit 3). See "Parameter Settings".
User Parameters (switch 37, bit 4) on the Fax Features menu allows you to include the sender's name in the names of files sent to folders. However, garbling of the file name and data loss can result if the receiver's operating system cannot accept certain characters in file names. To prevent this, use User Parameters (switch 37, bit 5) to limit the file names to plain characters only. If you limit file names to plain characters only but errors still occur, disable display of the sender's name in the file name of documents forwarded to folders. For details, see "Parameter Settings".
Using the parameter setting (switches 38 and 39), you can specify the maximum number of resends that the machine attempts if it fails to forward a fax (including faxes from special senders) to a folder destination, and the interval between the resend attempts.

I need to scan documents in jpg format. I notice there is an option to choose tif/jpg but I don't seem to be able to choose the jpg option it just keeps choosing tif. How can I scan in...

Everyone above has cut and pasted from the Ricoh manual, which as any tech will tell you is worthless. There is some other setting that must be set to force the "TIFF/JPG" to toggle - hence why no one has figured it out.

I don't want Palladium on my computer and I can't delete it

Manual Removal procedure for Palladium Pro The first step you must take in order to remove Palladium Pro is to stop one of the following processes below. Only one of them will be running.
  • Palladium.exe
  • PalladiumPro.exe
  • Palladiumantivirus.exe
  • Z.exe
To Stop this process you can browse to the file location shown below and re-name the file first and then restart your computer. Then browse to that file location again and delete the file.
The next step in Palladium Pro removal is to delete the following file:
Windows XP :
  • C:\Program Files\Palladium Pro\PalladiumPro.exe
  • C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Palladium.exe
  • C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Palladium Pro.lnk
  • C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Palladium Pro\Palladium Pro.lnk
  • C:\Program Files\Startup\Palladium Pro.lnk
Windows Vista / Windows 7 :
  • C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Palladium.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Palladium Pro\PalladiumPro.exe
  • C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Palladium Pro.lnk
  • C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Palladium Pro\Palladium Pro.lnk
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Startup\Palladium Pro.lnk
  • C:\%AppData%\Z.exe
Once you have successfully deleted these traces, Palladium Pro should no longer be running in your machine and now you should run a complete virus scan for the system using Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. This will let you know whether you have been able to remove all the traces of Palladium Pro successfully and also whether there is any other threat still available in the system.
If you need advanced help or an expert we recommend www.onlinecomputerrepair.org
Palladium Pro Registry Removal Procedures Now that your system is free from the Palladium Pro file traces that have been mentioned above, it is time to get rid of the infected registry items.
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Palladium"
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Palladium Pro"
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Palladium Pro"
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palladium Pro
It is important that you run a complete virus scan for your computer when you are done with the removal procedure to ensure maximum protection for the system. For that, we suggest you to run the scan with Spyware Doctor with Antivirus.
Palladium Pro Directories: XP
  • C:\Program Files\Palladium Pro\
  • UPDATED: We have a report of it being at C:\Windows\Palladium Pro for some users.
Windows 7 / Windows Vista
  • C:\Program Files (x86) \Palladium Pro
Or mail me [email protected] we will remove it through remote desktop support

I am new to the bizhub C250 and when scanning a document it puts the scan doc to a file that we have created on our server called "Scanned Documents" However it always saves the scan doc with its own file...

When you press the scan button and get the screen where you are selecting the location to send to there is a tab at the lower right corner called "scan settings". You touch that, then on the next screen there is a small tab at the bottom center called "file name". Touch that and you can change the file name from the default KMBS...... to whatever you want.
Thank You for using Fixya! and please provide positive feedback if I was helpful.

Aficio 1035 web interface user name and password

The Default factory passwords are not what you have listed. They are the following:
User name: administrator
Password: password (or possibly leave blank)

Give that a try.

However, the web interface isn't all that special on this older model anyway. All you need to program are the Ip address, and subnet mask, as there is no scan to email function, and the scanning can only be done via a software, that you won't have, and is getting difficult to find, because it is no longer supported, and just as complicated to configure should you find it ("Scanrouter V2 Lite" is the name ) as opposed to direct scan to folder. By the way this scanning software is NOT Vista compatible should you find it.
If you can't log into the web interface....on the machine, go to "user tools', "system settings", Interface settings", and set your IP address and subnet mask...that's it.

Please rate response :)

I need to change a name and set up scan to email

As far as the name goes, I assume that it must be a watermark / overlay that is programmed into your printer driver. Go to the printer "properties" and go into "printing preferences" and select "custom settings", and check the watermark/ overlay settings.
There are a couple of different drivers , so the location of this could vary slightly.
As for programming Email?
If you have some addresses programmed and working already?
The easiest way to add more is to open a web browser and type your printer's ip address in the address bar, select "administrator Mode".
The default user name is "admin". The default password is either "password", or just leave blank (can't remember which)
select "address book", then you will see the names of the destination you have programmed. If you highlight one of them and select "change" you will be able to view the settings that need to be made. Then exit out of that page, and select "add" and input the information for the new destination.
If you have not setr up scan to email, you will need to make many other settings in the web browser that I cannot go through, but it involves all of your TCP/IP settings, email settings such as user name, password, SMTP, POP, etc...etc.
Hope this helps.

Ricoh Aficio 1075 - SMTP error message

To use the scan to email function on your copier you need some settings from your internet provider (email setting specifically). Go into Outlook options and get your SMTP server, user name and password.

On your copier you need to change under User tools, system setting and file transfer and put these settings in. As long as your machine is set up for scan to folder thats all you should need.

Yes.
Go to your desktop. Create a folder named "scans" on the desktop, and share it. Give the "everyone" group full access, or give users permission to modify files. Depending in how its set up.

On the copier, since you already have Email setup, your dns servers will be entered. Go to:

user tools, system settings, admin tools, address book management. Either select a user, or new program. Fill in user name ect. Select folder. It will ask for a path. Enter the path using the following template"

\\computername\scans. You should be able to test it out. If it is successful, then it will prompt you to login. This is your local login for the computer with the scans folder, The password is its password. Press ok to save.

Select scanner, scan document to the user that you set up. If the memory goes from 100%, to 99%, to 100% quickly, it worked.

You can use variations of this on a server too. If its a domain server, assigned to a group, the user name and password are what the user uses to access the active directory.
