In Control Panel there is a mouse section, you may have the clicking disabled. if you don't and it still isn't functioning then you have a bad touchpad and it will need to be replaced.

You can also test using a USB mouse to find out if you have clicking disabled.

SOURCE: Mouse pad buttons not working

If the left mouse button is not working, then it is most likely the microswitch in the button has failed. To fix, you will need to replace the palmrest assembly

SOURCE: The left mouse button does not work on my IBM

Windows has the ability to swap mouse buttons, mainly for those who mouse left-handed. It looks to the right button for left button action. It seems that the actual left button is not functioning. A work-around is to use the right button as the left as you are now doing, AND, use the solid windows button (the one to the immediate left of the right control key) as the right button. Not as easy, but it works.

The red light on my mouse (the mouse connects to the computer) died out (the pointer cant move), but the clicker still works. how do i fix it?

The red light is the laser that senses where the mouse is moving. In this case it's a hardware failure, the bulb/laser died out.
The clicker is a separate part to the device so it will still work, and it should still connect to your computer like you stated.
If you are really attached to the mouse, you might be able to find a general computer store/ technician who can replace the laser but it'd be costly.
Your best bet is to either see if the company will replace it, or you might have to scrap the mouse for a new one.
Best of luck! Your mouse is important so I hope it works out well :)

My ex100 logitech mouse isn't working properly

Hi there

Your mouse buttons are stuck and can no longer hold firmly.

The best solution is to get a new mouse because repairing the mouse might cost almost the same price as buying a new one.

have a great day!

Unable to right click to delete item

The clicker on the mouse has a plastic mount, if that breaks it stops registering the clicks. The plastic doesn't glue well and the part is not worth replacing. It's maybe a $10 mouse.

You can however reverse the buttons using the mouse option in the control panel of Windows and use the left mouse button instead to get by. At least until you get around to buying a new one. The enter key also often works in lieu of a right click when opening programs and Windows.

Hi, my mom just got a IBM thinkpad. It worked just fine then the other day she told me the keyboard and mouse didn't work.I know somewhat about computers and tryed to fix this problem.I plugged in a mouse...

Check if you have any button on panel says about to lock the keys and mouse? Use your manual book if you have one. Lenovo has got this buttons that locks the keys and mouse to prevent unautorized use while you are away. Possible located next to the audio or power button.

Left click is broken

Actually, first you should try taking the mouse open and cleaning the sensor clicker thing or whole mouses insides, I had similar problem before, that fixed it for me.

Other option which I haven't tried and am not sure if works, you could try to move one of the side buttons that you don't use sensor to the place of the left mouse button. This I HIGHLY advice against tho since this might break down the mouse totally.

Then again if it comes down to not properly working mouse and you have to get new one versus broken mouse and you have to get new one, you have nothing to lose.
