2002 monte carlo ss engine fan want come on after the engine reaches it temputer

The Starter silenoid is probably what the problem is. And the knocking could that be a loose starter? The two problems doesn't seem connected.
God Bless Greg

The fuel filter is located in the pressure line that runs from the fuel tank to the engine,
near to the fuel tank.
Keep the engine off for few hours before replacing the filter, to get rid of some pressure in the lines.

have a free code check done (most large parts houses will do this) then using a manual such as haynes or chilton, determine what the codes mean and that will give you a baseline as to what to test...Individual tests are outlined in manual(s) as well. No competent shop will attempt a diagnosis without doing this, neither should you. Make sure that the cap, rotor and any ignition wires are in good condition as these items can show as a "misfire" but will not be listed as a "testable" component, though tests for coil(s) etc are listed.
Ignore any O2 sensor codes 'till other code sources have been identified...O2 sensor will read "out of range" during any condition where improper burning of fuel happens.(regardless of cause)
Can't give you a "fix" for your problem only because I don't have the ability to do the necessary testing that WILL give you an answer.
Good luck
SOURCE: install a 02 sensor in a 01 monte carlo ss
For the bank 0 (the engine one) Undo the dogbones holding the engine from rocking and push the car forward until it stops, then set the parking brake. With the car COLD, spray the sensor down with PB Blaster and tap it (TAP, not smack) and wait a bit, then use your O2 removal socket to pop it out. Put the new one in with a tiny bit of copper antisieze and be EXTREMELY careful not to get any on the head, just the threads - less is more here. Reconnect it, and then hld down the brake and take the parking brake off, then slowly release the brake to let the engine rock back. Reconnect the dogbones and you're all set.
For the Bank 1 (post cat), lift 1 side of the car and set it on stands, and chock the other wheels, slide under and look after the cat, before the resonator, on the ubend in the exhaust, unplug the sensor and PB blast it a bunch, then use the appropriate wrench. Install the new one with the above instructions.

Sounds like it is going off track whenever it gets to the popping sound point. Or its catching against something, Check to see if anything could be in the tracks of the sunroof. Hope this helps, James Booth. Let me know what happens
