I have a older model uniden bearcat police scanner. my husband passed away, alway programed. I have local numbers of our police department, but have no instrutions on how to program them in.is there any manuels or online instrutions? model#bc560xlt please help jc

Check your scanner for a model number. I have found an online manual for the Uniden BCT15X from Uniden: http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/BCT15X . This model has the TrunkTracker III logo to the upper left of the LCD screen. The Uniden logo is to the lower left of the LCD screen. The model number is given above the upper right of the LCD screen. Then the Bearcat logo is below the right side of the LCD screen. It used to be that you could reset a Uniden scanner by holding down the #2 and #9 buttons while turning on the radio - that MIGHT do a factory reset for you. Let me know.

That's because many police departments use a baud rate (similar to old fax modems) to decrypt the voice and then put it back together again with the right encryption key

Depending on where you are your local police may be using encryption technology that will only let you hear beeps and tones without a proper decoder device.

The Bearcat 210 Manual specifically states that the lowest freq available is 32MHz.
