My Maytag Atlantis, top loading Model #MAV1754 EWW does not fill up full for large loads. Water slows down when filling from the hot water side, yet works great for warm or cold water. The last problem was seeing water spraying straight up and out around the drain hose area. Checked all my plumbing and it works great until I put the washing machine drain hose back into the drain hole. I took it out and ran a garden hose with water, to see if the pipe itself was stopped up. The water ran into the discharge hose perfectly.My washer is very noisy when washing clothes, too. It has this brown plastic accordion type hose for the water to run out from the washer. (I highly question this type of hose)
To reset the water level you have to turn the knob all the way over as far as it will go and then come back to large load.

I will certainly try this! As for now, because of the water spurting everywhere, I have to take the drain hose off to see if it is clogged and check the filter too.
