My rear speakers have a engine noise coming through. The more you push on the gas the louder it gets, and it is only in the rear speakers. sometimes it doesn't happen until you've driven the

It is on a 2003 Chevy Tahoe with a Bose system.

if my ground is bad wouldnt it come through all my speakers. what about my amp. could it be a prob with it

  • Anonymous Feb 25, 2013

yeah it's a god possibility! I have two amps running in my trck and I'm running 1 AWG wire to both of them and have never had that problem. I've heard it in other cars before and it is annoying! From what i understand is if the ground wire on the amp is in a spot with paint or not ground to the chassis correctly it will cause ground noise. That is what your hearing. So yes I would say that it is coming from the amp!

SOURCE: 2003 chevy tahoe no rear heat

I know the earlier tahoe's have two heater lines running from the engine compartment to the rear under the vechile. Those lines could be clogged or pinched shut. What you do is get two hose locking pliers. Go under your truck, they are two metal lines that turn into rubber and back into metal again farther down the line. First, checked for pinched lines. If none, find where the rubber hoses are, clamp them off, remove from metal lines and drain. Use garden hose to flush fresh water through. When water comes through at high pressure and pretty clear, it should be done. Reconnect hoses, top off radiator fluid and it should be fine.

Making whistle noise on off on run and stopping.

There are basically two types of whistle noises.

* Whistle when you get more gas (increase RPM, put gas pedal, sometimes just idling but louder when you put more gas)
This usually intake-side leak.
Intake manifold itself, intake manifold gasket (most likely), even airfilter housing, Airflow meter housing (connector), anything where air goes to engine.
usually engine get rough or unstable idle when intake leak occur.
Engine knocking or pinging may feel.

* Whistle when you decrease RPM (engine brake, reduce speed, sometimes just idling but louder when it dropping RPM)
This usually Vacuum-side leak.
There are many vacuum hoses in engine room. even inside of cabin (heater control, etc)
Try to spot where it coming from.
Vacuum also connected to Brake servo, heater control and spark timing.

Put metal or plastic pipe (small PVC pipe will work fine) to one of your ear then isolate source of noise and find where it come from.

Loud humming sound coming from a ford five hundred when driving

That could be anything - from tire noise to bearing noise to the passenger in the rear seat! Where does the noise seem to be coming from - front? rear? left? right? engine? Is there anytime that the noise changes or goes away? Gets louder or softer? All these things help us to help you. Year and engine size are helpful too.

Every time I press my gas in my car I hear this whining Noise and I'm trying to see what it is that whining noise

does the noise sound like its coming from your speakers? if so and if it gets louder with engine rpm it is called RFI (radio frequency interference) its coming from your alternator and being picked up by your radio and coming through your antenna. hope this helps.

Noise seeming to come from the rear of vehichle when the vehicle is in drive. If i let off the gas pedal the noise quiets down and if I feather the gas pedal while driving in gear the noise gets louder. no...

sounds like the differental fluid is low, find the filler plug on the rear end and take the plug out, stick your pinky finger in this hole and see if you get fluid on your fingertip, if not add 85W gear oil in the filler hole until the fluid just does start to run out

Loud howling noise that get louder when I speed up and softer when I slow down

You need to try and localize the area the noise is coming from, engine area, underneath of car or in the rear. Does the noise happen when car is standing still and gas is pressed? This kind of noise could come from a worn wheel bearing or differential.
