First have your installation cd ready. if you dont have an installer cd, go to canon website to download the driver. insert the cd and wait for the autorun or find the install/setup program on the cd. follow the instructions and when it says you plug the printer, that was the time that you will power up the printer and plug it to one of the avail usb port of your computer. once the computer detects it will continue the process and instruct you on what to do next. remember run the cd installer or downloaded installer first before plugging the printer.

You may not have enough room on your hard drive to install the drivers. If you have a previous canon printer driver installed, you have to completely uninstall it, too.

Menu does not appear on the panel.
When the MX300 printer driver installed, will automatically be installed Canon MP Navigator. Canon MP Navigator function to activate the scanner. Try to search for Canon MP Navigator icon, on the desktop or START menu.

If Canon MP Navigator is not installed, you can download here Canon Service & Support. Open link, then select the operating system you use, download Canon MP Navigator, then install.

Im having problems with my canon printer
I'm not exactly sure what causes this problem, but here is what I did to solve it on the Canon MX850.

Go to Canon, search for your printer model (I searched for MX850, but you would do MX700), click drivers and downloads, and download the IJ Network Driver as well as the MX700 series MP Driver.

Install the IJ Network Driver first. It will require the printer be connected via USB, even if you use a network. Then install the MP Driver.

After that I was able to scan to the computer.
