Question about Kenmore 73502 / 73504 / 73509 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
I have error code ER dH. Unplug and then replug and the error comes back. Ice looks good and cooling and freezing temps are normal.
Error
Code - erdh Kenmore
and LG 795 Series. Model 795.77556600
but most models use the same repair.
Controller Part # 6615JB2005H Don't
be intimidated by this repair... The
'erdh' error code indicates - error defrost heater. Replacing the controller is EASY. The difficult part is removing everything in
the freezer section to access the evaporator coil but hang in there and stay
with it. You will not hurt anything if
you use common sense. The
new part (defrost controller) is relatively inexpensive ranging $10 - $14. Here in the SouthWest I used Appliance Parts
Depot for a $10 part cost. Don't forget
to have 3-4 small wire ties to secure the defrost heater, defrost sensor and
wires. It
would help to write down a few notes of some of the particulars during
disassembly. I
had the same ERDH error code, and my refrigerator began to warm up. I replaced
the defrost thermostat assembly part # 6615JB2005H which is located inside the
freezer, on the right side behind the white plastic panel. (See
Diagram Image) I accessed it by removing the freezer door, all components
inside the freezer, including the slide rails / tracks mounted on the sides of
the freezer. Be careful when removing the rear white panel because an
evaporator fan is mounted on the back of it and plugs into the back left side
of the freezer compartment. You just
saved yourself about $375 or more.

Er dh means the refrigs computer is not sensing a defrost cycle (dh means defrost heater) most common problem is a bad defrost sensor located on the evaporator behind the plastic cover in the back of the freezer compartment. your refrig will continue to cool for about 1 week unless you get this fixed then the evaporator coil will ice over and have to be defrosted manually.
this is an easy part to replace yourself and you can purchase the part thru sears.com or any of the other parts distributors on the net. you will need a complete model number from the unit to be sure and secure the correct part.

I think for Trio model number 795.75553400, the parts list is #610C and the part number is 6500JB2002P
Replacing the sensor(s) did remove the 'er dH'. It is one connection with two senors. I did need to remove the upper shelves in the freezer along with the ice maker. Remove the screw underneath the ice maker left wall (push up on the ice maker to remove), the screw in the middle of the back panel and the screw on the left of the back panel underneath the water. Disconnect the plug for the ice maker. Gently pull the back panel forward, I used the vents and wiggled. On the right side of the evaporator is the sensor and plug. Cut the plactic ties and replace old sensor with new one.
