Robohelp X5 Browser Output Issues

My Internet Explorer 7 output of a RH x5 webhelp layout contains shading and missing images that otherwise are present when previewing in RH. I am at a loss as to how to get rid of table problems that are not present when working in RH but show upon generating the layout. Help!!

I had the same problem. Within the same page, some images showed up and some did not. I checked the HTML code and found the [IF vml] statement surrounding the missing images (see below):

<![if !vml]> <img src="Managing_Queues_v2_files/image120.jpg"
alt="" width="61" height="31"
border="0" /> <![endif]>

I deleted tags:<![if !vml]> (surrounding the image tags) <![endif]>
....and the images were fine. I had to do a search and replace to delete all such tags within the document.

I am not a programmer and not sure what else to do, but if anyone finds a faster solution or an option during the import of the word document, please share.

Hope this helps as a quick-fix for now.

    Here is a better solution, just found this on the web, posted by Chuck. Thanks Chuck.

    .........................

    The solution I found was to to deselect the "Rely on VML for displaying graphics in browsers" option. Open Tools/Options, select the General tab, click Web Options, and deselect "Rely on VML for displaying graphics in browsers".

    Hope that helps someone.

Try to Reinstall Robohelp 5

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403696.html

The above is the link with instructions on the patch files needed to run x5 without activation. This is an Adobe link. This is the lowest version supported and the only way Adobe will support x5. For your information, there is no problem running x5 under Vista, although again, Adobe will not support this. Other than installing the various patches, the main procedure needed is to disable Vista's UAC (User Access Control). Otherwise, the WYISWYG editor will not open properly and you'll get a Component 4 Load error. The only issue besides this under Vista is that x5 doesn't support Office 2007. However there is no problem with creating Windows and Windows HTML help files.

Robohelp X4

Create a post to technical support on the Adobe web site and mention your problem. I was given a free upgrade to version X5 which there are special instructions and patches for. After installing the patches,X5 can be run without activation. Adobe will not support X4. You can say that you understand that Adobe will give a link so you can download X5. Then find the instructions for the patches on their web site.

RH x5 and Vista compatibility

Sorry but there is no workaround. It's like wanting a petrol car to run on diesel.

RoboHelp 6 was the first compatible version and this week RoboHelp 8 was introduced.

URL Address in Browser Not Changing

When dealing with frames the URL shouldn't change. Thats one of the reason why people actually use them, because they can hide the true url of the content.

RoboHelp HTML -- cannot check out image

By "check out" image, what do you mean? If you mean it does not display, filenames are case sensitive, so make sure the HTML code correctly calls the .gif file with the right case.
