Sounds to be the bulb has blown in the screen, or maybe the connections have worn out, this happens when closing your laptop lid up and down, replacement would be the answer.

please rate my solution

hope this helps

Acer aspire 4710z have continous beep and hang

the memory module(s) may not be seated correctly . remove the memory modules by removing the back side plastic cover, usually has picture or worded memory or MEM for the slot to be removed

the hanging is just that, memory issue or compatability problem.

if you recently upgraded or reinstalled the memory module(s), remove it and make sure its the correct module(s) for the Acer

here is the specifications, in case you need to know about your system

I have an Acer Aspire 3680 and all i get is a black screen when i power up. it seems to get power, but nothing appears on the screen when you boot up. is it the graphics card or could it be a bigger issue?...

Do you hear any sounds?,.. see any LED lights? Do you see any way to know there is power to the laptop? Please provide more details so that you can get an answer that is somewhat accurate.
without any more information to go on,.. the problem could be motherboard, backlight, backlight inverter, power supply, dc power jack (in the laptop),.... and that is just the short list,.. Please provide more details to get a better answer

HOW TO ADD GRAPHIC CARD TO LAPTOP

it is not usually possible to upgrade the graphics card on a laptop. as the graphics chips are on the motherboard. and they do not usually have a graphics card slot.

some (quite recent) laptops have a graphics express slot which does allow for them to be upgraded.

most often you find that laptop graphics chips share mem with the main RAM (allocated) this is controlled in the BIOS(Setup) and it may be possible to increase the allocation of memory there,

but I'm sorry to say for most laptops there is no upgrade (flexibility is traded for portability)

the 5002WLMI does not appear to have a grpahics express slot, however you may be able to increase the mem allocation in the BIOS (as it does use allocateable shared memory)
