No matter which program we set it on, the dish washer will run for 30 minutes only, it releases the detergent early, run as it should for the 30 minutes. Any ideas whats wrong. Its only about 6 years old.

Had simlar problem. It was the Program module. If yo open the program module you may see a burn track. Resoldering also ddid teh thrick

Empty all the water from the salt resevoir, (I used a turkey baster), then rock the machine backwards and forwards a few times and empty the last few drops from the resevoir again.

This is typical of a water leak onto electrical connection OR the electrical element has shorted internaly . Check this with a Ohm meter and itshould show the problem

The tank could be replaced by taking the old tank to a repair shop dealer (ask for a second hand tank) as most repair shops have a graveyard of spares. The water overflow to the anti flood device is a protection in case of water leak or blocked pipes. Pipes could be removed and cleaned by hand and replaced (use new pipe clamps).

This seems like the anti flood system (polystireen float / micro switch) at the base of the washer is triggered,\. This puts the washer in pump out mode and stops inlet of water via the inlet solinoid. Dry the water on the base and then check for any water leaks. (pipe leak
