The Qualcomm Atheros adapter and drivers are already well installed. When i did diagnosing, it finally says "wireless capability is switched off". There are 3 buttons on the top "ASSIST', "WEB" and "VAIO". Only the web button is working. I am not able to find any icons in the task bar. I tried downloading Intel Proset wireless adapter also. But it is not working. It is not even showing WiFi icon in the Network option of Charms bar. Please help...
It's a common problem when a OS upgrade is done. Open the Device Manager, how many "Unknown Devices" are listed? In Device Manager under Network Adapters is the Wireless device listed? Try here for the Win 8 Pro 64bit drivers: http://www.sony.co.in/support/product/sve14112en/download

two things you may wanna check
if the wireless is enabled in your network settings
and 2nd may be there is a Fn key +some other key combination for the wireless

you need to install your sound driver and camera driver again. but in compatible mode. this time you open the control panel and look for the option under programs and features titled"run program made for older version of windows" and install the two drivers.they will start working

Usually, with a dropdown toolbar, you can put the cursor all the way to the top of the screen and with the toolbar visible, right click on it to activate a control menu from which you can stop it from dropping down, unlock it and move it to either sidr, or even turn it off altogether.
If this doesn't work, try entering yout laptop model name in Google search followed by "disable dropdown toolbar" for blogs and forums for your laptop model that may have a specific command or trick for your machine.

There is not only Realtek, but two more, i.e. Atheros and Intel. You better install all of them and check which one will work.

If you've already installed some or part of the above drivers, please uninstall them (installed drivers), restart your computer and install all these.
