The automatic light that turns on when the oven door is opened and shuts off when the oven door closes
SOURCE: Gas Oven
THERE SHOULD BE A KNOB SELECTON ON THE MAIN TEMPERATURE CONTROL OR SOME HAVE A SWITCH. OR .I DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT IS ON FRIGIDARES ... AND PLEASE DONT HOLD IT AGAINST ME. I WILL SAY THAT ALL SELF CLEANING STOVES DO IS TURN BOTH YOUR BROILER AND OVEN BURNER ON HI AND "BURNS OFF THE SPILLAGE OR DIRT" IN AN ALOTTED TIME. AS A REPAIR MAN I NEVER ADVISE USING THEM ... THEY CAUSE ALOT OF HEAT AND DONT REALLY WORK ALL THAT WEEL IF THERE IS ANY SIGNIFICANT SPILLAGE TO CLEAN ANYWAY.

There may be a broken spring that helps the door stay open.
SOURCE: gas range
I have a frigeidaire classic gas range 12 years old worked fine until a pot of water leaked over the stove top burners. now the door locked lite is on and the door lock is activated , the oven door is open and won't close. The oven also does not work now, although the stove top burners work fine.
Can you help ? Thanks, Tom

try to disconnect power to the unit for a few minutes the plug it back in. this may clear any errors with the control board and allow the door lock to reset as well. If this does not do the trick then i would have to check the door lock motor, the switches for the doorlock mechanism and also check to see if the control board is sending power down to the door lock motor.
Does the oven light switch work? hold the button in and see if the door lock moves.
Did this occur after you ran a self-clean cycle?
Hello Peter Robinson - If the display LED's are dimmed on the range but it is working, then it sounds like more than likely the EOC (electronic oven control) or wiring failure will need replacing. I personally recommend contacting a professional for an accurate diagnosis and to assist with the repairs. You can often locate a qualified provider by visiting the manufacturer website.
