In leaf green before i battle the rival my screen blacks out and i can't get the HM 01 Cut!!!! its really annoying. Is this something wrong with the game or my gameboy? and is there anything i can do about it?
I have the same problem, and I bought the game off of eBay too.
The way I solved was to have my friend (who has FireRed), trade me a Pokemon which knows Cut. You cannot actually get the HM, however, but you can go through the game perfectly with that Pokemon. The game is bugged, but only in that specific event. Just skip it and trade with a friend or yourself. Hope this helps!

The game keeps freezing before the rival battle on the SS Anne and I can't get the HM cut.
I have exactly the same problem.... very frustrating as you can't get much further without the CUT move!
When you say bugged.... what do you mean? That its a knock off copy?
I have the actually same problem, its so frustrating. Does it mean that the game is a copy because I bought mine of ebay????
