I've had my Samsung MP3 for about a year now and it's been great up until a day ago. I went to listen to some tunes and they weren't there! I had a browse through file manager and they were all still there, but sure enough the next day they were gona out of there too. The Copied file still had some stuff in there, but when I plugged it into my pc to have a look and the only remaining files were Data and Media, nothing inside them. I've put some more music on there, but this was because I made a new Music file. Can anyone help, or at least let me know which files go where so i can put it all back!

...Samsung returned my player after 3 weeks. Some problems fixed, but not all. Their customer service & tech support lines are hopeless, and eventually suggested I return the unit to Amazon ! Amazon have agreed a refund & Samsung have lost a customer permanently. It's a shame because this could be a great player if the internals were up to the mark.

Use the Samsung Firmware Updater to fix it. Mine did what all of you are speaking about. I was ready to toss it then I tried the firmware updater on the CD and it fixed it. You must copy all the files from the \setup\Programs\ and \setup\Binary\ folders on the Samsung CD to a folder on your hard drive. Then connect the player via USB and run stupdaterapp.exe. It will search for the device and pop up a menu. Check the Format Data Are box and click start. It takes a few minutes and wipes the device clean but it fixed mine.

Go to device manager on your computer, go to USB(Universal Serial Bus), find your MP3 player, right-click, and click "update driver" At the new window, click "No not this time" at the next screen, click "Install from a list or specific location", then at the next one choose "Don't search", then click your MP3 and click "next" it will then update to recognize your mp3.
