And the problem goes like 3 to 7 seconds on the same particular passage. I'm using a Seagate 500G ExHD and though it doesn't happen to all my movies, the problem is also not exclusive to this particular one. About 4 other of my movies have this problem happening to it as well. What could be the solution, sir???

the lazer is not reading try cleaning it with a lazer disc cleaner. but remember most pc burners need replacing after just 2 yrs of work as there lazers burn out fast

This could also be an issue with the power supply. Perhaps it's transistors, or a fuse is fading, and it's not able to correctly regulate the power going to the motherboard, so the motherboard is shutting it off. I've had this happen on quite a few of the older systems that I've fixed over the last decade.

Some movies are encoded with a protection the Disc acts as if you are tempting to copy the write protected dvd. you can get a program for free called shrink dvd that will remove the protection and copy the movie to your Pc so you can watch it.
