I'm assuming you set the password for yourself and have forgotten it? If that's the case, you'll have to start over. Press and hold the reset button in the back of your router for about 30 seconds. This will reset it to the factory default settings. Now you're able to use the default passwords. On older routers, the default username is blank and the default password is admin. On newer routers, both the default username and the default password are set to admin.
Let me know if this is what you needed. If not, we'll take it another step if possible.

Cant find PIN

if you dont know the pin you can put the CD in that came with your router.
if you lost it or dont have the CD then you can just setup the router manually by using your browset to http://192.168.1.1
login. the default login/pass is blank/admin
then go to wireless and choose manual.
this will let you set the SSID or name of your wireless network.
then you go to wireless security and choose WPA-personal
type in a passphase for your wireless password.
you will need to configure all your wireless devices to the new SSID wireless network you created and use the passphase you created to join the secured network.

you need to configure your linksys router. to do this
connect to the router with a cat5 cable in any of the lan ports.

the default login/pass login : blank pass: admin
if you had changed this before please use that login/pass. or reset the router if you can't login by holding the reset button for 30 secs.

there you can set the SSID of your wireless network. this will be the name of your wireless network.

choose a good passphase that you can remember.
apply the settings you had made.
on your laptop unplug from the router and search for a wireless network. you should see the ssid name that you made.

you should now be able to surf the internet wirelessly.

When i log on to internet my wirelss router asks for a passphase i did not set upthe router how do i find out or reset passphase

The passphrase is a way of setting up the encryption code in the wireless router. This is used to protect your wireless router from unauthorized access.
The passphrase is configured in the router wireless configuration and this configuration is applied to the wireless card in the laptop/computer to allow the laptop/computer to connect to the wireless router.
Please click on this link and follow my instruction to configure your wireless router and wireless card in the laptop/computer :-

My wireless card is asking for a passphase 8 - 63

WPA requires an group of alpha numeric sequences for encrypting data between the wireless card on the computer and the wireless access point/router.
These sequences are hard to remember when setting up the wireless Access point/router soa passphase is used to generate these alpha numeric sequences, just use any english phrases such as "I love you 2 pieces", then this can be used to configure your wireless card on your computer.

Setting up a wireless connection between my linlsys pcmcia card and my 2 wire gatway

first insert your pcmci linksys card into the laptop, you would find a found new hard ware screen, insert the setup disk, and then follow the steps, automatically your card would be installed, once the installation is done, the wireless adapter , would detect wireless signal, try connecting to the wireless network.. if it asks for any key, look at the bottom of your 2 wire router you would find a 10 digit number, enter the number as the number as key code or password, automatically you would get connected.. if case if you have any problem , revert back ..
