Usually there's an input select button on a VCR's remote. You just press that, and it should work. It usually does.

Mitsubishi HS-U540 VHS VCR How do you connect the red, white, and yellow cables?

The RED is Right Speaker the WHITE is Left Speaker and the YELLOW is for
Video. They connect with RCA Cables to the same color coded inputs on yout TV.

You may find it easlier to just use a CoAxial Cable; Use a CoAxial for the CABLE IN to the Cable Box then 1 CoAxial from the Cable Box OUT to the VCR IN then use 1 OUT from VCR to TV IN. That is much easlier then using RCA Cables.

Mitsubishi U54 VCR Recording Speed

If you have a remote, there should be a button labeled "SP/EP" or "RECORDING SPEED." Otherwise, I might try looking in the VCR's main menu.

Here are the possibilities:
1. really dirty heads - both video and audio
2. TV is not selecting the right input for the VCR.
3. difficult (but rare) failure in the VCR output circuitry.

Input selection

Many of the late VCRs have very limited funtion from the VCR buttons. Power, eject, play, perhaps channel selection, that is about it for most. I assume you don't have the manual? Looked on Mitsubishi website, didn't list a manual for your specific model, perhaps another model would be close enough. http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/j/i/18344/OwnersGuides.html?tid=5&f1=2005&s=3 Replacement remotes here: http://www.vcrremotecontrols.com/Mfrs/Mitsubishi/MitsubishiVcr.htm

Can tune mitsubishi HS-651V video player/recorder to watch TV.

Hi Jaco, Have you fed in your Antenna / cable into the Rear of the VCR? And if your VCR has a Input selection switch, just check input to Tuner. You will get Blue screen if input selction is not Tuner but Camera / External source. If this does not solve your problem, then there is no Input selection happening.
