89 300 e mercedes cranks over but wont start

Have you checked that it is getting fuel????
Slightly undo one or two of the injector lines on the fuel distributor and have someone turn on the ignition while you slightly depress the disc from the airflow-meter box. If there is no fuel coming up than you have a fuel problem. That can be electrical, faulty fuelpump, the little control box that is bolted to the fuel distributor called electro-hydralic-actuator or even the fuel distributor itself.
Simply a process of elimination.
Fuel
Spark
etc.
Hope this helps

I NEED A FUSE BOX DIAGRAM FOR A 1986 MERCEDES 300SDL

The fuses are identified on a card attached to the inside of the fuse panel cover. A spring clamp holds the cover in place. The fuses are available wherever German Auto Parts are available. Volkswagen - after market fuses seem the most plentiful. They are color coded .. replace same for same. For example on a 84 300SD fuse 18 controls the Power Windows LF & RR & is a 16 AMP. Fuse 5 is a 25 AMP for the seats. A fuse burns out because their is a problem .. for example .. a slight rear end crash could short at tail light socket & crush the bulb .. Fuse 1 an 8 AMP fuse would blow .. this would also cause you to lose your taillights . warning system & Instrument illumination , as they all share the same circuit. a blown fuse .. melts.

Vacuum diagram of Mercedes 190D, 2,2

neto 190D: You are asking about a vacuum diaphragm?
I'm going to take a WAG.. Your engine won't shut
down with the key?
If so, he is the way you find out:
In your injection pump, the vacuum diaphragm which kills the engine is the one which has the fitting pointing parallel to the ground.
The vacuum line which serves it is a brown/blue
To check the system, first check for vacuum in the line. Run the engine for a minute or so. Cap off the brown/blue line.
Turn the ignition switch off and then with hose in hand, uncap it and you should hear a hissing sound. If you have a vacuum guage, obviously, use it for the test, you need a minimum of 10 inches to kill it.
To test the pump diaphragm, you can rig a vacuum line to a known vacuum source close to the main "T". Run the engine and with the line connected to the diaphragm, connect it to the good vacuum source, if it kill the engine, the diaphragm is good. If you have a hand vacuum pump it would be more ideal, because you could check the diaphragm for small leaks.
If the diaphragm is bad, it is easy to replace on the pump.
The shutoff diaphragm lists for $86.00
Is my shot in the dark correct?
Even though I am a Nissan Master tech, I also specialize in Mercedes-Benz and specifically Diesels, so if you need help, I'm here. I went through a few Mercedes Schools and have been swinging Iron in Mercedes since the 70's
I might be a little more informative than the public library.

Merc 190e fuel injection problem

If the fuel gets to the distributor but no fuel comes out of the distributor if the airflow disk pushed into the air/fuel mixure body, i suggest you check the electro-hydralic-actuator
53703cc.jpg Its the black box (picture thanks to elproboscis from ebay america) as it controles the flow to the pluger body inside the centre of the distributor and goes from the plunger direct to the 4 outlines.
