on those washers the waste water pump will get hair and **** wrapped around the shaft behind the pump fins. pull the washer forward and tip it back so you have access to under the front. on the right fron you will see a little pump. unplug the power clip and the ground wire. there will be a plastic tab you must bend a little so that you can twist the whole motor, not just the fin on the back, counter clockwise and remove. if you have water in the machine it will come pouring out. your machine will not rinse or spin if the waste water pump does not pump out enough water in its alloted time. when you have the motor out unscrew the pump fin cup thing and pull all the stuff off the pump. good luck.

while under the lid there should be a tech sheet, explaining varions flashing light codes and there respective fixes for each instance, replacing tha switch(out of bal switch) seems like a good start though. cant remember if jumping it out will help, might be looking for a break in the line rather than continuity through it

SOURCE: Smart drive 5.5 washing machine lights show power on but no go

OK Problem located (without Diagnostics) , the problem was a faulty START/PAUSE button. I took the display board apart and fiddled with the button (whilst the power was UNPLUGGED) Starts almost every time, when it does`nt fiddle some more.

Most likely a blocked pump

Hi there
That fault is the pump blocked error (no change in water level).
i have a quick and easy way to solve this problem.

first turn the machine off then tilt the machine back and lean it on something(a chair or wall), look underneath, in the top right hand corner of the plastic outer boul you will see a small pump motor it has a fan on it spin this fan and if it is hard to turn that means there is somthing stuck in the drain pump keep turning the fan and try to free whatever is stuck in the pump, then try the machine on spin again all goin well the object in the pump should come out with the drain water(doing this will not harm the machine) if the object is still stuck you will need to get the water out of the machine (bailing or siphioning will work) and tilt the machine back again and take the wires off the pump and there should be a white tab on the boul holding the pump on pull this tab and twist the pump anticlockwise about a quarter turn(you will need a few towels or a boul or bucket to catch the water) and it should come off exposing the blockage.
Hope this solves your Problem.

Nick

Washing machine

It could be a faulty lid switch in the blue display board.
The smaller one of the two has the lid switch in it.

Fisher & paykel smart drive 601, power to board, won't fill

If it isn/t doing anything at all it could be a faulty start switch on the display panel. Also make sure you can hear an audible click when you open and close the lid. The lid switch on a 601 is actuated on the right hand back of lid adjust as required. Hope this helps.
