clunking noise..banging noise.. and barrel seems to be in the wrong position

"through the bottom of the unit" sounds labor intensive. Does that mean the unit has to be pulled out and put on it's back?

Often there is a spring assembly or some form of strut that holds a top loader in position but allows it to dampen the movement of the load.

The tub has simply came off the struts. Best fixed by two people-- one to help hold the tub in position, and one to twist the strut(s) back on-- through the bottom of the unit.

Big Thunk when Frigidarie Front Loading washing machine started the final spin cycle, then at the end of the cycle soft screeching sound when drum is moving back and forth, any thoughts? amshap50@gmai

does not sound good. if you can remove a cover on front bottom or on the back you may find a broken shock, or counter weight, either would need replacing before running again

Dryer is taking too long to dry, can the element be worn out? whirlpool, thin twin heavy duty, large capacity

If it heats the element is good. Most likely cause is bad ventilation. check the vent on the outside of the house while dryer is running to make sure you are getting plenty of air flow. If you want to check to make sure its working properly general rule is 6 towels should dry in 60 minutes.

I have a Whirlpool thin twin and the agitator is not spinning and makes a humming noise. I washed a small bathroom rug that created an uneven load and this is when the problem started. We removed the top...

I don't have a solution to this but I have almost the exact same problem - washed a runner bathroom rug last night, today it drains but won't spin and I'm having trouble diagnosing further or disassembling... <!-- from fixya rte -->
