This is mineral deposits that can clog the line and the actual manifold that is used to fill the ice tray. i would purge the lines and wash out the manifold with a mineral cleanser non corrosive solution.

Ice not forming in ice tray

Hi - there are several problems that can cause this - but ultimately, if your freezer is keeping frozen foods frozen, the problem is lack of water flow.

Most automatic ice makers work on a timer. At a regular interval, if the ice maker arm is down to signal a "not full" ice bin, the heater on the bottom of the ice form turns on to break the bond between the ice and the mold. After a short time, the wiper linkage turns to allow the wipers push the individual cubes out of the mold and fall into the bin. After that, the solenoid on the water line is energized that will allow the water to flow to the ice maker to fill the mold, and then shuts off.

The water may pass through the filter inside your fridge (if equipped) and the filter may be clogged (if you can dispense water from your fridge and it works - this not likely to be the problem). Some fridges require a filter to be present - other will work without a filter - but none will work with a clogged (or frozen) filter. Make sure the fresh food compartment of the fridge is not freezing the filter.

Most of the ice maker functions are silent - except for the sounds of the ice dropping into the bin, and in some cases, the "snapping" or "clicking" of the water solenoid turning on and off (coupled with the sound of water running).

See if you can hear this happening. If you do, the problem could the either the flexible water line or the point of the water line attachment to the cold water pipe in the house. If you moved the fridge out for any reason, it is possible that the water line has been kinked or crushed when the fridge was moved back into position. If it has been undisturbed, it may be related to the valve that supplies water to the fridge. Sometimes, a clamp-on pipe piercing valve is used to connect the smaller fridge water line to the cold water pipe in the house. It is not unusual for these to give trouble after several years - particularly in areas with "hard" water. It may be worthwhile to replace this if it has been installed for some time.

Lastly, it may be the ice maker itself. It has heaters, switches and motors - any of which can fail and cause trouble. You could pour water into the the maker with a watering can or similar and let it make ice as normal. If ice is never dropped into the bin, then something on or cabling to the maker itself has failed and will likely require professional service or replacement as an assembly.

These should get you going and may pinpoint the issue - good luck!

The ice maker isn't working. There is no water in the line.

I have a similar problem for my LSC27911ST. There is no water coming out from the dispenser, although ice maker seems to be working.

I didn't do anything other than keep trying water dispenser in hope that water can be drawn out from the inner pipes.

After opening the freezer door a number of times, tried dispense ice and then tried dispensing water a number of times, eventually water come out again.

Maybe the water line in the refrigerator was frozen. It is very hot today, and maybe the refrigerator over work too much.

Turned Whirpoll ED22PE off and moved to install new flooring. Put back to previous location, connected water and elect...would not make ice. Someone said it has a temp sensor and must be 10 deg b4 making...

If the water valve is leaking a bit, it will cause freezeup, as will a flow restriction. The 'water splashed inside freezer' sounds like leaky shut-off valve.

Sometimes those 'saddle pirecing' water shutoff valves get restricted, so you are not getting enough pressure.

Also, if you had things disconnected, a little bit of grit may be in the filter or shut-off valve, causing issues.

I would:

a) check the house water pressure, to make sure it's normal

b) check/clean/replace fridge water filter

c) inspect/replace saddle valve and look for kinked water feed line

d) backflush water out of fridge, if possible, and look at clean/inspect/replace water valve.

Although they do make add-on heater kits for water maker feed lines, your issue just sounds like a water flow issue...either a leaky valve or a flow restriction.

Whirlpool GR2FHTXVQ00 fridge. Water dispenser

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.

You can thaw out the fill tube and replace the inlet valves.

Ge fridge- water dispenser in door wont work yet ice maker does.

There are a few reasons for this. Most common, is the water filter. After a period of time(literage usage) the filter eventually blocks up.Flow will not continue until a new one is installed. On occasion, the water line in the freezer ices up, but doesn't often happen. If so, you will need to defrost freezer until pipe is no longer iced up(set freezer to about -20 degrees celsius).or very possible, water solenoid at the back of the fridge has gone faulty. You will need help with this check,There will be 2 valves. Very possibly it will be the RHS one at the back. Switch water supply off at the back then go to the water solenoids at the back of the fridge.and disconnect the one pipe on the solenoid that leads into the fridge. Open fridge water tap again and ask member to quickly press water dispenser lever.Note if water squirts out for that brief period.. If not, reconnect pipe again then do the same disconnection to the second solenoid. If no water comes out then,(make sure water is open), then the water valve needs to be replaced.

Ice maker is leaking water into the ice container making a block of ice . leak seems to be in the front of the mold and heater assembly thanks for your help in advance

make sure your fridge is level. if water just keeps flowing, there may be an obstruction in the solenoid valve that lets the water flow or stops it. it's in the rear of the fridge where the water line attaches. usually blue or white plastic on a brass mount. you'd need to shut the water off, let it depressurize, disconnect the pipe (some water will come out), replace that valve, or take it apart to clean it.
