My computer program was updated but now I have to type in my e-mail address and password to access my e-mail

After the program update, the computer has lost it's autofill data. So even if you have kept "keep me signed in" box checked in, the browser cannot provide the login credentials to the Yahoo Mail Server.

So, you must provide the credentials and keeping the "keep me signed in" box checked in you have to login to your account. The next time your browser will not ask you again for ID and Password.

Hope this helps, Mrityunjay.

I cn`t log on to yahoo.com

  • What does "Keep me signed in" mean? If you check the "Keep me signed in" box, you can stay signed in to Yahoo! on this computer for up to 2 weeks or until you sign out. To protect your personal information when you access some Yahoo! services, we may ask you to enter your password again. The "Keep me signed in" checkbox applies to this computer only. If you're using a public computer, we recommend that you uncheck the checkbox. You can also modify the number of times you're asked for your password by clicking on My Account at the top of most Yahoo! pages once you sign in. If you do so, Yahoo! will ask you to verify your password more frequently, although your sign-in screen will still indicate every "two weeks". (More information on modifying your sign-in settings)
  • What is this image at the top of my sign-in box? It's a sign-in seal - a feature to help you protect your Yahoo! password against fraud. (Find out more about sign-in seals.)
  • Not seeing your sign-in seal? If you set up your sign-in seal but now no longer see it, you could be on a fraudulent site. Look carefully at your browser's address bar. A genuine Yahoo! sign-in page will always display https://login.yahoo.com just before the next forward slash. (Read more about identifying a real Yahoo! sign-in page.)
  • Concerned about password security? Yahoo! submits your ID and password using SSL, which provides a level of security when transmitting data. (More information on password security.)
  • What if I forgot my ID or password? Look up your ID and/or password after confirming some personal information. Remember to use your full Yahoo! ID (e.g. [email protected]) to sign in.
  • Having problems logging in? Did you forget to include your full Yahoo! ID? If so, please remember to use your full Yahoo! ID to sign in.

Signing in ....sign in to yahoo mail.....i check the "sign in for 2 weeks box"...but it dosent work now.........have to sign in all the time.... whats gone wrong... ..very frustrating !!!!!!!! peter

Even if you configured the program to keep you signed in, whenever your internet connection fails, you'll need to sign in again or every time you turn on your computer. If you keep you computer on for 2 weeks without any connection failure, then definitely, it'll work for you, but I am afraid that any internet connection will continuously keep connected without any interruption. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.
