You may have got as far as me on this... On the Hoover website there are a lot of User Manuals, with the SAME (generic) Hoover Sensory USER manual (file name = sens-bag-NO_Buzzer.qxd, dated 22/06/05) showing against a lot of MODEL NUMBERS (e.g. TS1724 to TS1828, TS2308 to TS2061). This lists some CONSUMABLE part numbers, but not SERVICE part numbers. The same website does show upwards of 150 individual service items (including motor etc) but as far as I can see does not link parts to Model number(s), so the best it appears to offer is a visual match to a part you want to replace - which may mean you don't get the right part. That seems to be about as good as it gets

Are the brushes worn down too far? As they wear the springs tension gets weaker. The brushes can also get stuck inside the channel they slide in. Could also be a buildup of dust etc inside and around the internal fan or commutator, etc.

I need to replace my hose to my steamvac model F5842 can you help? Ordered a hose but I don't think it's the right one

Hi Chris,
Your Hoover SteamVac model F5842 needs the Hoover SteamVac replacement hose part number 40309007. You may find a link to the correct hose for your model below on our website:
Hoover SteamVac F5842 Replacement Hose Assembly
In terms of replacing the hose, this is an older style SteamVac, which attaches the hose to the front of the Dirty Water Solution Tank.
Here is are instructions on how to attach the hose to your machine:

Where can i source a micro switch for Hoover HNT5146 Nextra? either known as micro switch or safety switch.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry, this FixYa Washer Forum does not supply service centre numbers, engineers, spares sources, software, installation instructions or prices; it is just made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home, from all over the world, with experience of addressing problems and giving guidance for free on the web ;-0)

You will either have to search in your local telephone directories OR stay on line and search for '(make) washer service' for instance or '(make) washer spares' and hope that you can find someone reasonably local.
Sorry again ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I have a hoover elite 1210 washer. A wonderful washer , had no problems but the lid has discoloured. Wondering if i can obtain a new lid?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Spares Suppliers
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer spares' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can order. Alternately you could try telephone directories for spares suppliers but I would think the former would be more successful.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.

I don't know how to change the bag for the machine, bag # SR 401010. Vaccum is Maytag Legacy series. Is there a diagram or picture to show how to replace the bag. Thanks

http://www.hoover.com/CustomerService/Manuals/Default.aspx Enter your model number on Hoover's website to view or print a manual. I suspect that you may have accidentally discarded the bag frame ( part # 93001544 ), which holds the bag in position.

Please don't tell me it's SO old they deny ever having made the thing! Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Legacy 830 – Model #U5079-910 The vacuum model is not that old and I would suggest that you contact your local vacuum dealer to see if they have a new or a good used metal piece that would work or contact the Hoover Co and they could send you a owners manual or instruct you to download the manual from the Hoover website. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.com Telephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST www.A-1Vacuum.com 1-800-657-1874 If you cannot find a local dealer near you they can ship you the parts UPS.
