Acer aspire l100 dvd problem

Hi my problem is"when i insert the RW cd in this optical device device show there is no cd or dvd in this rom insert the cd but this run on ananoter dvd rom my DVD rom is:........... DVD-Writer - IDE, DVD±RW (+R DL) / DVD-RAM, DVD±RW / DVD-RAM, DVD±RW (+R DL), DVD±RW (+R DL) - IDE

your DVD ROM's lens has became weak.
and it cannot be repaired.
But if you manage to open the DVD ROM clean the dust in it & it will start working agaain but be careful remember that no power should be attached to ROM.

" This model of computer does not have a blu-ray drive unless you got a third party upgrade. In this case, you will need to track down special drivers, which can best be done by whomever sold you the drive.

may be u do not have DVD rom with this device for that you have to cahck on the top off Device it's mention what kind of your divice

may be your combo drive go to demage change it replace another or you use external usb cd rom or DVD must be select usb cd rom/DVD

On acer aspire 5520g the dvd rw spins the dvd but bio's says its unplugged and it won't read the dvd's

Try downloading a driver from the net, Or install DVD software such as Roxio or Sonic Cine Player. Does it show in hardware as a CD Rom or DVD/RW ? If it shows as a CD the driver is the problem.

Computer problem

Get some other software like Nero. It is mach better than any Windows Software. Especially if you are using VISTA>

Cd rom won't run when a cd/dvd is inserted

Sounds like you got a bad drive. This happens just contact the manufacturer and let them know what the problem is.Most of the time this can be resolved pretty easily.

ACER 4520 CD-RW/DVD-ROM its pops up insert disc

you can try two solutions
1) go to device manager and uninstall the primary and secondary ide controller under the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and than restart the system and than chk it if that works out
2 ) if the first option doesnt work try to update the firmware of the drive
