My batteries won't charge in the camera or the external charger that I purchased. Also they never held a charge for very long. Should I buy new batteries again or is is a camera issue?

Yes, there is definitely a fault with your camera. You should be able to return it for a replacement. I wouldn't experiment too much with batteries in this camera. batteries discharging this quickly are likely to overheat, causing unmentionable catastrophe.

Try soaking in a bowl of clean warm water. I had the same problem and this resolved it. gotta love water proof camera!!!

I tried to do this with my LI-10C Olympus charger and it worked..The blinking red light turns to solid red..Thanks for the info...Now I won't be bothering to buy a new batt.or have my charger checked..
