Mediawiki on GoDaddy Error 500 Internal Server Error
I installed Mediawiki on a GoDaddy linux account using Cpanel.

The wiki worked for few days. It then unexpectedly stopped working with "Error 500."

Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

The cause of the problem was the .htaccess file, which looked like this:


RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /wiki/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /wiki/index.php [L]
Options -Indexes
Options -Indexes

I eliminated the redundant "Options -Indexes" phrase from the "Options -Indexes" line, and the wiki came back to life.

I don't understand what went wrong. I didn't create or modify the .htaccess file myself.

GoDaddy did this! I had made a backup of the wiki right after installation, and it didn't have either line in it!

GoDaddy's help system isn't entirely helpful on this score. In "Issues with Server Side Includes and htaccess Files," GoDaddy says:

"Options -Indexes" is the preferred way to disable directory browsing. This is also the default behavior.
* Why did GoDaddy edit the .htaccess file to include a default setting?
* Why did GoDaddy mess up the .htaccess file by attaching "Options -Indexes" to the "" tag?
* Why did GoDaddy mess up the file twice?

Facebook did some sort of upgrade today that has been affecting many of the games. If you check the fan page of your game, they may have posted the same message that many games have done today.

Failure of server APACHE bridge What does this mean?
Hi!

First of all Apache Bridge is a Plug-in which has the ability to Integrate, Application Servers such as Weblogic (Oracle's component) with the Apache servers (http or web servers).
Before solving the issue you have to specify with what component or software this error occurred. This issue is common if you have used Weblogic/ Weblogic plug-ins.

This error occurs when the Apache server is unable to communicate with Weblogic Server if you are using one.
  1. So first you must ensure Weblogic servers/plug-ins have been properly setup/configured!
  2. You have to check Apache error logs if you use an internal web server.
  3. If there are errors, you have to configure Apache properly.
  4. If you are using WL clusters configure and test.
  5. Apache logs are located in /apache/logs. Check logs under Managed Instance or Admin Server.
  6. Make sure your plug-ins are compatible with Apache.
  7. If you are using Weblogic, please read the manual at Oracle.

Port Forwarding for Apache Server
Hi Robmoll,
Let's get a little bit more in detail. I'm doing the same exact thing you are trying to do with a D-Link DI-624 and I'm using NO-IP instead of DynDNS. I'd like to ask you a question, if I may, what are you actually seeing now using port 80 and how did you disable it? Can you connect another PC to the same router (making a small Home Network) and test locally your Apache and eventually your web-page by typing something like this "http://192.168.0.101/"? Are you already able to see your router from the "outside" trough port 8080? Are you specifying your "private" IP in the port forwarding setting of your router? Do you mind showing a snapshot of your port forwarding settings? Here is mine; you see two different IP's because there are two PC connected.
