I have a 4 years old vsx 7000. It has been working fine until one morning recently didn't respond when dialed to. The night before worked fine. Turning it off and on doesn't solve the problem. When I turn it on the camera moves, and the green light in the front come on momentarily with a high piched sound, it stops for a second or so until camera stops rotating and then the green light comes on along with an very high pitched constant noise. Then nothing. The splash screen doesn't come on and I can't hear the sounds that comes on during the splash screen. But I can hear a very high pitched noise coming from the camera. The front green light stays on. The network port on the back shows no signs of communication. The remote doesn't respond at all. Eveything appears frozen.

The real answer, sorry this is old -- is that a temp sensor, called a thermistor has probably gone bad in your amp. A thermistor is a resistance thermometer, or a resistor whose resistance is dependent on temperature. When these go bad in the VSX pioneer amps, the amp wont even power on with NO speakers connected to it. Just instantly goes into "im overheating, turn myself off" self protection mode. On some amps this part is easy to locate and swap out. Unfortunately, some are harder to find the physical location of this thermistor .
Your VSX 6000 does not support Multipoint. YOu will have to move up to the VSX 7000 or 8000. The VSX 7000 supports MP and the VSX 8000 supports 6 site mp if you have that option installed. DAVID
