SOURCE: Cold water will not fill in Kenmore top load washer

The problem is most likely the cold water adapter. There is a wire harness that connects to it to tell it when to turn on the water. That part is not functioning properly anymore and that is why it is humming when it tries to work. Cheap part and it can be bought at any appliance repair shop. When you take off the back panel you will see what I am talking about. I used to work for Sears as an appliance repair man and I saw this problem a lot with Kenmore washers. It's easy to fix and not very expensive. Let me know if you have any other questions.

SOURCE: Kenmore 110 Top Load Washer-cold water fills extremely slowly

No it is probably the screen that is either in the end of the hose that attaches to the machine, and/or the screen is placed so that the cone is toward the machine instead of pointing away from the machine.
If the cone is pointing towards the machine any debris in the lines would collect and eventually fill the screen cone and slow or shut off water flow.

SOURCE: Washer Fills HOT WATER ONLY

If you checked the screens at the water inlet valve and they were not clogged, then you probably have a defective water inlet valve and will have to replace it. Hope this helped.

SOURCE: Kenmore 70 series washer won't fill during rinse cycle

It appears your timer/main controller has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

I have a top loading Kenmore Washing Machine. I don´t have the excat model but looks like a KENMORE HEAVY DUTY SERIES 70 AUTOMATIC WASHER, MODEL # 110.92273100. The problem presents after finishing...

You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

Kenmore 90 Series fills with water but would not agitate or spin

You have a problem with the motor coupling. Top-load washers use what's called a direct-drive system, meaning it does not use a belt but what's called a "motor coupling". I probably replace 5 a week because these little guys break because of 2 reasons that i've found.
1) The break mechanism is too dry and causing the basket to stop at a holt, which puts a lot of strain on the coupler.

2) They break because of over-loading. I don't think you're over-loading though because it was find for 5 straight years.

Good luck to you. The repair is kind of hard to do on your own for the first time, so I would call an authorized technician. It will run you anywhere between $90 to $120 at most.

Best of luck!

That means that eithere the membrane water lever switch is faulty (most common) or that the drain pump solenoid is stuck on open.

Kenmore washer

Disconnect cold water hose from machine. Inspect the filter screen on the cold water connection. DO NOT REMOVE SCREEN. If full of debris, use a spray bottle with a hard spray to remove debris. If unable to remove or cold is still slow, replace valve. As far as the spin is concerned, inspect the bottom of the gearcase for oil. If oil is present, the oil has migrated to the clutch causing it to slip during spin.
