first you insure that paper tray is fix properly then clean the paper sensor & refix the catridge.
SOURCE: Printer says 'Unable to detect paper width'
The paper tray has some "fingers" that detect the paper.
Remove the paper and tap the sensors a few times to make sure they are not stuck.
Use lots of mamper, not just one sheet so that there is enough weight to press down on the sensors.
Perhaps it is Earth's gravity that is malfunctioning today :)

f you have tried the Kodak standard instructions for clearing the
paper jam problem and it did not help try the procedure below. Works for esp 7.
1. Open the printing area of the printer (containing the ink cartridges).
2. The Ink cartridge holder should be to right side of track.
3. Look on left side, below the track for the cartridge that is used to
clean the print heads. It can be identified by a square black pad
approx. 1" sqaure that appears to be made of "felt".
If it is visible this is most likely your problem.
4. To correct problem locate the flat latching lever approx. 3/4" wide that
sticks up about 1/2" above the cartridge. It is locacted just behind
the "felt" square. Gently push lever toward rear which should free the
cleaning cartridge and allow the entir cartridge to move slightly
backward.
5. Close the top of the printer and cycle the printer off and back on.
If this is the problem, the "paper jam" error will now be gone.
This is such a simple fix I do not know why kodak does not inform
customers of this problem and how to fix it.
SOURCE: PRINTER DOES NOT DETECT PAPER EDGE
Have you tried "fanning" the paper before loading it? This fixed my problem after a 6 hour battle, downloads of all firmware and restarting infinity times.
This seems to be fault in the transport of the paper in the rollers. So if you have used any adhesive sticker printing, it is possible that some glue has got clogged into the rollers. If not there can be some jammed paper in the rollers or the mechanism.
There is a in-detect sensor, usually an opto-coupler , make sure this is not clogged or dirty as this IR detection feeds the signal to the processor for starting the motor drive feed.
Since this is a new set with a warranty do not attempt to open and tamper as the warranty may go void if there is a serious issue.
