Memory Stick Error

I have had this camera for nearly two years now. Recently when i started turning on my camera, a message "Memory Stick Error" pops up and will not allow for any pics to be taken or viewed. I know the memory is not full because it stores way more than 200 pics. What can I do to fix this problem? Is it the camera or the card? because I do not want to spend money on a new card if it will cause me the same problems. I tried experimenting by putting in a new card with less space, and for awhile it seemed to work, then the same message would appearm making it seem as though its the camera. Its frustrating because its hto or miss...sometimes it works just fine, other times the error appears. It seems as though when a special moment is occuring, thats when the error appears. Please help, I dont feel like having to get a new camera after only owning mine for less than two years seems fair.

Memory connector in camera may have loose or corroded pins ( memory card will not seat ) ; consider replacing connector - if cleaning and resetting connector pins does not help ;

MY SONY CYBER SHOR DSC-W270. IT SHOWS SYSTEM ERROR WHEN TURNED ON.

Hi,

The System Error message displays when the files on the recording media have been copied or deleted repeatedly on a computer. Backup the files on your computer, then format the recording media in the camera to resolve this issue.
Formatting the Memory will erase all the data stored in the Memory Stick.
If the error message displays after formatting the Memory Stick, then try using a different Memory Stick media. Once the Memory Stick is inserted, perform manual power reset of the Camera.
To reset the Camera, turn off the Camera and remove the battery pack.
Then, allow the Camera to remain without power for 30 seconds.
Later, re-insert the Battery pack in the Camera to resolve the issue.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Internal memory formatting error to sony DSC-T2 camera error c:13:01

Hi,

In DSCT2 Camera, the C:13:01 error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. This message can be clearly identified by the help of a Sony Authorized service technician. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camera. In C:13:01, the issue is with the Internal Memory or with the Memory Stick.

The Symptoms are:

1. Format error with the Internal Memory which can be corrected by formatting the Internal Memory.

2. Unformatted "Memory Stick Duo" which can be resolved by formatting the MS in the Camera.

3. "Memory Stick Duo" is broken or not compatible which can be resolved by inserting a new compatible MS.

4. There may be an issue with the Hardware part also, which can be resolved by the technicians.

Try turning the power off and on again, or taking out and inserting the "Memory Stick Duo" several times may also help in resolving the issue.

Thanks.

I have had my camera for about 4-5 years. It has worked great. lately it has started to act weird. when I turn it on the screen says access and wont let me take a picture. then after a few minutes the...

Go to camera Menu and select Initialize, OK.
Camera will turn on itself, if problem still exist, tap camera gently and turn On again to solve lens access problem.
Memory stick error can be solved by formatting it through Format menu in camera. Use another memory stick in camera to make sure that camera is OK.

Format Error in Sony Cybershot

i think this problem arises when you fail to regularly format the card ie. take lots of pictures and delete some and repeat the process over and over instead of downloading every session and formatting the card causing coruption. Also if you've bought pro duo memory stick off ebay poss. its a very good forgery (again i've been caught out by this).

Memory Stick Error

Have you tried re-formatting the cards? If you can't with the camera you should be able to with a card reader. It's probably the camera, unfortunately, but this is worth a shot...
