When using the AC Adapter and in normal mode the laptop restarts itself every 20 to 40 min. The battery will only last around 1:45 min. and there are no problems with battery only. Also, in Safe Mode and using the AC Adapter there are no restarts. I have tried another similar AC Adapter and the same thing happens. Again no problems in Safe Mode. What could be causing this?

Is the fan working? It might be overheating.
Or one of the drivers is corrupt, and crashing the computer. The only way to solve that is by remotely (by means of starting from CD with a mobile OS).

It is a common problem with this model. If it is under manufacturers warranty send back to Toshiba for repairs. If not, you will need to take it to a computer repair location to have the DC in jack and the base connector replaced.

If you can start it up on safe mode go and back up the files that you needed because formatting the HD will be needed and reinstalling the operating system. You can also download malwarebytes first and run it during safe mode. once it is finish restart it in normal mode if it does not work perform the 1st step above.
One bad lead or faulty connection point can cause a computer to shutdown continue restarting on a cycle or fail to detect your hard drive boot up
test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions SATA
the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty
even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause you problems computer needs all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly
a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working
check the CPU make sure it has thermal paste and dust free secure seating
also check your computer ram modules and cmos battery make sure it has charge and they are dust free and securely seated some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in
hope it helps

The fan is working properly.
One hour and forty five minutes on the battery.
It seems to be something in the power management. Could it be the DC jack?
