You don't necessarily need a code if the DVD player screen is not asking for one. The problem could be that the discs are not finalized - use the same DVD recorder or computer burning software that you used to record the DVD's to finalize the discs. Some programs/players use the word "closing" or "close disc" instead of the word "finalize." If you used the Magnavox to record the DVD's, go into the Settings menu of the Magnavox, select "Disc Edit," and then "Finalize." If the DVD player screen is specifically asking for a code, the user manual for the Magnavox has the universal code in it - it is usually 7-1-1 or 0-7-1-1 for Magnavox. If you have lost the user manual, it is available from either the Magnavox or Funai website, depending on your exact model.

Can DVD DISKS BE COPIED FROM VHS TAPES ON A dual; DECK MACHINE?

There are machines made just for that task such as the Magnavox DVD recorder. There is a VHS tape deck on one side and a DVD recorder on the other side. You can copy a VHS tape to a DVD and copy a DVD onto a VHS tape as well

Trying to copy vcr tapes onto a dvd and it will not let me...says protected? how?

If the tapes are commercial type movies being bought at a store some time ago, the system will detect it as copy right protected and will not let you make a copy. I've had the problem in the past many times, but if the tape is a home made movie taken with a video camera, it should let you copy it. Some video to pc software does this even with homemade video movies, very frustrating and annoying some times.

I have a grundig gr1000(b) vhs/DVD combo. Is it possible to record from video cassette onto DVD? It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the instruction manual. Thanks for your help.

Yes! You can select to copy from VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS, set the VHS tape ready to play and press pause, then put a blank recordable DVD disk in and then select copy, the options for VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS can be selected and then it will copy, when the tape gets to the end it will turn off itself, if you want to stop earlier you will have to stop it! Hope this helps.

ICBM-9191 DVD Player Issue

dvds and cds skip when you bump them..my opion not made for cars. i think dvd movies can hold up to 4.7 gigabyte of video and sound, cds 700 megabyes. solution is maybe not invented yet? but download the dvd to a gadget like an 40 gig I-pod and plug in the video and sound to a monitor.. ipods have a hard drive in them but can take alot more abuse. now remember search the web for a portable small harddrive with digital to analog conversion, for ipod is really just a mp3 player.
