Variable speed not working, the trigger is either full on or off. speed switch 1 or 2 works

Replace the switch because a power mosfet inside is defect

650583-6 look for that switch partnumber also ferify it because this is for the model in the netherlands but most time its the same by Makita and its not to expensive will succeed to replace succes. but be careful when pulling out the wires using a thin watch screwdriver to push the unlock holes next to the connector contacts.

My DR201 works great in the LEFT (clockwise) setting but NOT in the RIGHT (counter clockwise) position. It will occasionally work in the RIGHT position, but is intermittent. It has always functioned this...

All you have to do is take the model number and go to Sears to order a trigger switch. Take the cover off of the drill, take the wires off the old switch, and put the new one in. It is super simple.

My Makita BHP451 Li ion battery drill periodically the varible speed does not work, ie. the button works as a on/off switch - any idea what's wrong. Thanks Bjarne

Bjarne, odds are the variable speed function of the trigger is failing. There are Makita repair centers that perform repair, and sell parts if you want to take it on as a DIY project. Before proceeding, I would make sure the warranty has expired. If it is still in warranty a Makita repair center should repair it for no charge.

Drill was working one minute went to change bit after i did this it would not work

Probably a trigger switch, if you wiggle the switch will it power up?

Also if your drilling alot and it slows down and won't restart it could be the motor's brushes.

Cheers

I need wiring details for makita jig saw 4301bv

I have a little bad news for you. Makita doesn't furnish their wiring schematics online and I checked a couple other sites and nothing but you can call 1-800-4625482 that is their free technical support line and they can get you one.
