Motorola talkabout red light on radio stays on while charging

Unit is charged and LED flashlight works. Also, tried putting in new AAA batteries and did not help. When powering-up, a small squelch, but not even the screen comes on. When I place the unit (turned off) into the charging cradle, the red LED on top of the radio comes on and stays on, but the LED on the charger does not come on like it used to. Nothing in the manual on the red light on top of the radio coming on when in the charger.

Your radio needs to be turned off when on the charger, and be certain you are using a rechargeable Motorola battery. The charger will not charge AAA batteries or rechargeable style AAA batteries. If the light does not illuminate on your charger, try the radio in a different charger and see if it does. This will tell you if it is the radio or the charger. One further note, you should clean your charge contacts with a pencil eraser to insure they are making good connection.

SOURCE: HX4700 will not power up

I have repaired many of the Hx4700s that appear to be dead by shorting across the "battery locked" switch. It is located on the lower right corner of the board when viewed from the back with the cover off. The switch just shorts to ground when the battery is locked in place. By flowing a small bit of solder over the two connections on the back of the switch, the iPAQ will return to life and there is no ill effect of bypassing this switch. In my opinion the switch is to fragile and poorly placed.

Are the batteries the original power pack? this charger are disigned for work just for this batery packs only.

Check if the conctas on the battery lead for dust or corrotion.

SOURCE: Battery will charge if off of radio will not charge if attached to radio

look on the battery , you sould see a 3 digit code. EG if you see a code like 458 . this means week 45 ,2008 or if it is 123. this means week 12 at 2003. The motorola batteries last up to 2 yrs. if it older than 2 years old , replaced the battery

SOURCE: My Casio Exilim S770 won't turn on or charge

Wow I can't believe how many people this happened to. I have the same camera and is under warranty but they said would not cover the battery. I got on Ebay and purchased another battery that came with a charger and was only 12.99 for the pair. The battery is an NP20. It is not the camera or the battery it is the charger. Apparently there is a problem with the charger on this. Trust me get a new charger and the battery will charge and work. Thanks

You might try http://wirelesspro.com, we have found them to carry most TalkAbout accessories and batteries. Before ordering battery packs, you might try switching your existing good battery to the other radio and see if it solves the problem. This would assure you that it is indeed a battery problem.

Battery Charger Olympus li-40c

I had this problem a few weeks ago (i.e. flashing red LED). All I did was remove the power plug from the charging unit, turned it around 180 degrees, then plugged it back into the charging unit. Red LED came on steady & the battery (which is the one that came with the camera) recharged as normal.

Flickering LED flashlight

It sounds as if the connections in the back of the radio may not be continually connected to the contacts on the charging base. You might want to make sure that the radio is properly loaded in the cradle of the charging stand. The reason why the lights 'flicker' is because if your power goes out, the light on the radio will come on when it detects no power to the charging base. This is a feature to many new emergency radio gadgets. Imagine a storm rolling through your area and the power goes out in the middle of the night. Your Vector radio's LED lights come on so that you aren't searching for the radio in the dark.
