A sticky air button can be one of two issues.

  1. The Air Button can simply be worn out in which case it obviously needs to be changed. Measure the size of hole once it is removed and then you will know what size you need to reinstall.
  2. The inside of the Air Button may have some calcium built up inside where the button goes up/down. If you can get the center button up and removed then you can take some soft emery cloth and gently run around the outside edge of the button and the inside of the air button body. This will gently remove any calcium deposited there and allow the button to go up and down easily.

There is a nut on the underside of the air button (under the tub) that hold each air button in place. You have to get to the underside of the air button to unthread the nut so the air button can be replaced.

My dishwasher Fagor fi-80 just fills continuously, till overflowing. How should it know its full? I cant see any sensors.

It uses an air bell to turn the depth of water into air pressure, then a pressure switch senses this pressure.

Down inside the wash tank, you'll see the air bell. Usually grey, a flattened rounded rectangle tapering wider towards its lower end, stuck to the side of the tank.
Take the panel off the machine, and on the dry side of the tank you'll see a little hose leading away from the bell towards the pressure switch.

Four of the more common failures....
1) Water valve stuck open. It'll keep filling even with the electricity turned off.
2) Air bell leaking. Crumbling plastic bits not unknown, this machine could be 15 years old by now.
3) Pressure switch stuck. Blowing into the switch you should hear a 'click'.
4) Most common - a build up of fat in the top of the air bell, blocking the sensing tube. With the machine empty of water, take the pipe off at the pressure switch end, and blow into it. This should dislodge any fat/debris. In extremis, slacken the nut holding the air bell to the tank, rotate the bell upright and give it a good wash out.

MYF AN WILL NOT SHUT OFF EVEN WHEN UNIT IS OFF

The ON/OFF switch is broke and stuck to the ON position. Does it cycle on and off for cooling with the thermostat? If yes, replace just the ON/OFF switch. If it is stuck on cooling 100 % of the time, replace the thermostat and the ON/OFF switch. The thermostat is a temperature controlled ON/OFF switch.

Why is ge ajes12dcc 11600/11400 window air condition/heater combo blowing cold air for heat the air conditioner is working fine but the heater is blowing out cold air

Hi, it sounds to me like your reversing valve is not switching the flow of freon over to heat, stuck in cooling. The valve is located near the compressor, it has a 24 volt coil on it. If you unplug it, it should switch the valve into heat. If not, the valve is probably froze stuck, and will need to be replaced. Something a service tech would have to do.

Air selection switch on 2006 ford focus is stuck in the defrost position, is it controlled by a fuse

Your blend air door is cable controlled, and the cable unraveled internally at the switch, it just happens to be stuck in the defrost position, ive had the same issue, just replace the blend air door cable/switch and its fixed!! looks to be about $40.

On Duet Front Loader- Error code F/H. Can see plenty of water coming in so I suspect pressure switch. Is this a common problem? I don't quite understand your pressure switch check procedure in your...

This error code F/H tells that no water entering the machine is detected during the fill step of the wash cycle. It can be due to siphoning, pressure switch not tripping or stuck in the empty position, or the water flow meter is not reading the correct water flow. Make sure that no water is draining out of the drain hose due to siphoning as water fills in and position the end of the hose to prevent such condition.

The pressure switch is stuck and not tripping if after 8 minutes the water flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it but the control has not detected the pressure switch trips. The water valves are then turned off and the error code is flashed. The error code is also flashed if after 30 seconds the water valves are turned on and no water is detected entering the machine due to sticking flow meter pinwheel or the flow meter is not positioned properly.

The flow meter is position sensitive. The pinwheel must be installed vertically. Any canter to it may cause the wheel to stick. Many times the F/H error code pops up only when HOT water passes through the flow meter. The hot water may be softening the hoses on either side of the meter, causing the flow meter to canter. Stuck or cantered pinwheel affects the flow meter's ability to read water flow accurately. Disconnect the hoses from the flow meter then blow air into the inlet to free a possible stuck pinwheel. Replace the flow meter if the pinwheel is totally stuck and cannot be freed.

Check the pressure hose for possible kinks or air leaks if the flow meter pinwheel is positioned vertically and turning freely. Kinks and air leaks in the pressure hose prevents pressure built up in the pressure switch dome and the pressure switch cannot trip. Check the pressure hose including its connections to the pressure switch and the bottom of the tub. Blow air into the pressure hose to clear possible clogs or kinks and check it for air leaks. Also blow air into the pressure switch dome to free a possible pressure switch contacts welded or stuck in the empty position. You should hear the pressure switch clicks if it is tripping. Replace the pressure switch if not tripping and the pressure hose has no kinks or air leaks.
