Thank you for your reply... I downloaded the software update, trying to install it now, but keeps prompting that I have insuffciented battery and to charge for a few minutes...but my battery was intially half full, has been on charge for about 30mins now, and is still prompting the same message and not continuing with the update.
Do you have any suggestions?
Many Thanks, Yvonne...

With my Nokia E66 I have got the same problem: I cannot send text messages. The following error message comes up: "General:memory full. Close some application and try again".
Meanwhile, I can receive texts, make and take calls. I have checked it with my network supplier, message centre number is ok.
Please help! What can I do?! Hi,

Your suggestion worked! However, when I uploaded all my files back onto my phone and memory card, then same thing happened again. So I again reinstalled the updated software from Nokia, checked that I could again send messages, then uploaded my contacts, checked again, then just uploaded my files to memory card and not settings, bookmarks, etc and I still can send out messages....so I presume that something in the settings corrupts sending out messages...just restoring factory settings is not enough...updating software was neccesary. Thank you for your advice!

I just had to make sure my battery was fully charged before uploading the new software... After doing this all your files will be deleted so make sure you back up before installing update. When update is complete and you want to restore your files, I suggest doing this gradually to ensure you still can text out...

I have tried to download the software from the website, but no joy so far. It keeps coming up with the error message that a part of the software is missing and asking me to un-, then re-install it. I have done it for 4 times at least. I have quite new laptop, so it should be up for the challenge. I am sure I am doing something wrong, so I think tomorrow I will pop in to my network supplier's branch and see if they could help or direct me to someone, who can.
Thanks again for your help!

I work at o2 in Bury, if you goto nokias website you can do a firmware upgrade for both handsets free of charge. You do need the USB data cable (DKU-2, DKU-5 or CKU5 cables) that came in the box
If you want to see if its done this, before you update key in * # 0 0 0 0 # and take note of the Version then do the same once finished. If all else fails, so long as your phone is still under manufacturers warranty you should be able to have it repaired at a Nokia Service Centre located around the UK, you'll find these here!
The best thing to do then is to give it a full charge, I forgot to mention that on the original post (Sorry)
Give it a full 3 hour charge, then try the updater again, make sure you've backed everything up first though. You can do this with the supplied Nokia Browser CD
Hope this works

Hey Zicky, I would honestly try what I advised previously, its quite common on these "types" of phones. When I say "types" I generally mean they're Symbian Handsets. Its a common annoyance for these things to happen to Symbian phones. If by any fluke you get any further problems please feel free to get in touch
And don't forget, if you are going to try the update service, don't forget to full charge your battery for 3 hours
Hope all goes well

check in message settings whether message center number is there or not if not call customer care and get it ....also check message is sent as text or not if not make it text and try.
hi there, please call the customer service of your service provider ( AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon etc)....they will set up message center number on your phone , the one that you have might be incorrect...your mobile operator will send you sim updates that will refresh the messaging settings ....and then you will get the text message through with out any problem cheers
There is nothing wrong with the hardware or software of your mobile! The main problem is the faulty / wrong Message center number. Correct it and you will be able to send the messages. It can be find in the messages -> settings. (Cann't remember exactly)
selct the memory to memory card (ie message memory) u are saying 15 mb is free in memory card but what about the phone memory.. got to message > options >settings>other settings> then select memory in use select phone meory and try to resend message again
First you haved to format your unit and your memory card,by formatting your unit pls follow this simple step, press # *7370# you have to enter your 5 digit security code the default code is 12345. by following this procedure will solve all your problem, especially is WD2 series .hope it will help........
