Update the printer drivers also fix windows internal errors by scanning PC with an updated Anti-virus.
If problem still exists then after scanning with anti-virus, scan pc with a reliable registry cleaner tool like PCFresher for an instant fix.

Epson has an interactive troubleshooting guide on their support site. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp From the link above, choose your model printer. You will then be brought to the main page of your printer. Then, click on the "interactive help program" link under the Troubleshooting Guide section. Through this, you will be able to find an article describing what all the indicator lights mean and how to possibly resolve the issues.

It would sound like a defective encoder sensor, almost ANY copy repair shop can fix this for you, you can try to buy the manual and fix it your self but that is NOT recommended

Remove power cord for at least 10 seconds AND delete print job manually from Windows(?) Open Control Panel>Admin Tools> Services. Stop print spooler service. Delete contents of c:\windows\system32\spool\printers folder, restart print spooler service, plug printer back in.

HI, you got a mechanical error on your printer this is because it got a paper jam problem and that may result that your printhead slams. Try to look if there's something in your printer that preventing the gear inside to move. If so re install again the driver software of your printer.

It seems your printer,s carriage is jam or carriage encorder is out of carriage sensor
